DAMN...So much for "group rate"!!!! Wha'd they do...have a group meeting at the hotel, "after" you called!?!?!?!! Tell me that involves a conference room!! That's not even right...even Travelocity has the rates different now...news travels FAST!!!

When I first mentioned this on the other thread...I had "just" looked it up!!! It was $119 Bayview!!! That's BUNK!!!

I just talked with the Mariott. Their room rates are as follows:

Standard room - $99
Island View - $149
Bayview - $179

Their dockage is a bit more limited however a few years ago the Florida Power Boat club stayed there and we got maybe 12 boats in their marina.

I left a message for group sales to call me back. The lady I needed to speak with will be out till Mon. I was told we might be able to get a little bit of a discount.

The rates you quoted from the Westin are their posted rates. I was wondering if group sales got involved if they'd be able to do better.

Consintracy...I just checked Travelocity and they are back to $119.00....What's up with that? They hear we have our group rate set so they changed it back?

We went ahead and booked our room at the Westin. You can see what the rates are for a Traditional room (no view). Alot cheaper than 199 per night for a Bayview room. If plans change and the group decides to stay elswhere its no big deal cause we have plenty of time to cancel.

Tbikini~We are staying at the Westin Oct. 11-15th...so, I would imagine we could convoy down together (that would be such a beautiful site w/all of the boats!!!).

If anyone else would like to book thier room through travelocity, go for it. I am not sure how many rooms they will have avaliably for travelocity but I will need to know how many rooms each person wants, and what type by this Thursday if possible.
