Who is going to the THUNDERRUN?????
 

The Thunderrun is on. And I offered to help Pat with some of the details for the thunderrun. It is open to all Active Thunder boat owners. I am looking for some preliminary info on who is definetly attending and how many people and how many rooms you need. For those of you who did not see the post, it is set for Friday the 11 of October depature from Miami with a return date of Sunday the 13 of October. I can assure you it is going to be one hell of a good time.:cool:

Are you going to be trailering back and forth just for the event or are you leaving the boat in Florida for the winter. It seems to be a bunch of moving to be showing up with a 25. My buget has just be tweaked a touch as you well know.
Let me know what the plans are and Ill mention if to Christine. She is wacky enough to think it a great idea...Ill just bring her a helmet incase it rains :rolleyes:

I am planing on trailering it back and forth as of right now. I really do not have any plans to leave it in Florida. I am sure that if you are going to go we could drive out together. I think it is about a 20 hour ride. I will leave on Tues or Wend sometime and plan on being back no later than Wend the following week. The only thing that may change is I may bring the boat early leave it there with my tow rig and fly back home and then fly with the wife back down and tow it back. Still have not deceided yet. Chit with Spirt airlines I can catch a flight round trip for 125.00.

Oh and you gotta come for the run it is going to be a great time. Imagine the photos of all the boats running....wooops slipped out, sorry Pat....:p :D :D

Depends on when our boat "Monsoon" is completed. I hope it is completed before the run, but to far out to tell. It should be starting this week. I already hinted to Pat for awards for newest boat and furthest travelled. I figure we should atleast be in the running.;)

Tbikini and I will be there. We plan on trailering in and out. Those of you also trailering your boat coming from Michigan, Illinios or Indiana, we need to hook up In Nashville or Chattanooga and travel down together. Imagine that rolling down the highway. I think this would potentially include Jafo, ActiveThunderTodd (ConsinTracy), Jesse James, ???????, etc.

We will have one other couple with us. (Pat, these are potential buyers, so our boat needs to be absolutly perfect:D)

We looked on Travelocity last week and rooms over this weekend at the Westin were $119.00 (Consintracy's suggestion).

The only down side here is this is during Huricane season (and I do not mean the football team):(

I would not worry about any hurricanes, maybe a thunderstorm or a monsoon, but no huricanes....:p ;) :D :D

Tracy and I were down there that same weekend last year and I was down for the Columbas Day regatta the year before. The weather both years was perfect. Water was perfect and the trip was perfect. We went down with Pat and Diane for the weekend last year. Tracy and I are talking about heading down early to get a few extra days in Key Largo. We would probably drive back up to Miami to meet everyone on the Fri so we could motor down with you all.

We'll most likely leave on the Mon before and take 2 days getting to Miami. Splash the boat on Wed and head right down to the Westin at Key Largo. Then meet the rest of you back up in Miami on Fri morning, maybe.

My wife and I have been talking about and may be in. From where we live we would run through Chattanooga and love to hoock up with a convoy of AT's.

How many other 25's are going to be there? Ive done the trip from North Miami to Islandmirada in a 29 Outlaw which was nice. If the conditions turn up though Christine would beet my ass.
As you know our trip back from AC was pretty brutal...she just kept looking at me and saying "waste him NOW! so we can stop this pounding". She is exstremely tolerant and loves the boat but I would be really imbarrassed if all 110 pounds of her kicked my ass in front of you guy's

I wouldn't worry about it being too rough for the 25'. We will be on the inside the whole way. The roughest part of the trip will be going back to Miami from Elliot Key. With all the other boats heading back at the same time the water gets pretty churned up. Nothing a 25' AT can't handle though.

Could we get some more info about the itinerary? I'm hearin' Tantrum talkin' about 25's runnin' along with all the 85-100+ mph AT. Yea the boat will handle it but my body may have a problem. We won't be going that fast either. We like to cruise and enjoy the beautiful sights (mangroves. dolphins, topless women, clear blue water, topless women, beautiful sunsets, topless women, great looking boats and lastly my favorite, topless women....well my woman anyways :D :D ;)) It should be a fun relaxing time. The really fast guys can show off by flying past the rest of us then coming back to join the cruise. I'd like to see Dan zipping past me sometime.

Dan have you called the Westin to see if they would be willing to give us a group rate?

I will not be running 85-100 mph. I am all about taking in the sites. I am planning on running with everyone as a group.

We are working with the Westin on group rates but we need to get an idea on how many rooms we will need first. I am thinking we will need around 10 or so rooms.

Pat~I'm the last person to ask when your trying to remember something!!!! (Thanks to my younger days when I used to listen to Pink Floyd). But, holy cow....is it Sundowner's??? All's I know is that they had great Ahi (Tuna), sushi style!! And the bar next to it sure had some looker's!!!
Bring Snorkel equipment if you are interested in it!!! We could find a really cool spot to anchor the boats maybe!! (Reminds me...gotta' get an underwater camera!!) THE WATER IS SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL THERE!!!!!!! (I think I'd trade in all of my vacations to spend more time in Key Largo!!!)
Don't forget we want rooms w/the view....not, the forest side.

I'm definatly in,even if I only have two 10hp weed whackers hanging off the back.

Paint and some dyno time and I'm back. Those bullet engines turned out to be a real let down once disassembled and inspected. If anyone is thinking of ever using his power PLEASE speak with me first!!!

1) New 37 AVH doesn't go into the mold until Sept., Oct.

2) We just had a baby on July 19.

3) October is football season in Michigan.

H20warrior and I are trying to get together a caravan of boats coming from the north to meet up in Chatanooga, TN We plan to be there Wednesday night, leave early Thursday morning and arrive in Ft. Lauderdale that night. We have made this haul twice now and it is do-able. (Definitely a long day) We will do some checking when we come back through there when we bring the boat home for the first time. We come right through there. We have stayed on both the west and east side of town, and the east side was better. More hotels out by the mall....lots of them grouped together. Will check out parking for the boats and post the report later. Hopefully not much later (HINT HINT)

I've launched and left my truck and trailer at Haulover Marina several times. Have never had any problems. Nice ramps and plenty of parking. Thats where we will leave it.

Now for the rooms- the prices are based on three different type of rooms. I finally after four revisions got some final pricing. Here it goes:(these are all based on double occupancy

Bayview rooms-199 per night
Forrest views-159 per night
Island view-139 per night


What I was told is that these rates include each room getting a dock slip and I requested that they all be close together and in near proximity to the docks. The rates are also somewhat higher, although not much, because they are guarented rates, on the weekend as well as a holiday weekend. I need to let them know within the next week so we can lock up the rooms and rates.

Please let me know what type of room you want either by posting, PM, or e-mail.

Wewill be putting together an itenirary within the next few weeks and if anyone has any ideas please feel free to share them.
