96 Active Thunder Power Boat Priced Reduced

Percussion of transom was indicative of moisture. The transom was 31% on the meter. (yes they did just get lots of rain and it was humid) Bottom of stringers were much worse. I will post the survey report for any one looking at the boat.
I talked to the owner and his mechanic. The owner was totally clueless, and the mechanic wasn't too far behind. The owner tried telling me the hours on the hour meters were the ORIGINAL hours(202 and 110), but a previous listing said the boat had 165 hours in 2004. The mechanic said the boat had external steering and the cams that they put in the engines were "good ones", but had no specs.

The hours on those meters were when I had the motors rebuilt 110 since the rebuild of motors would be my guess!! I personally installed those gauges so the whole boat has more hours on it!! The boat never had external steering on it unless they put it on after I owned it which I don't see in the pictures!! It's to bad I put a lot of money and time into that boat.

You're right he boat does not have external steering. The mechanic said he "thought it did" and then I saw pics of the transom. The owner said one engine had 110 total hours and the other 202. I asked shy such a large difference and he never answered. The mechanic said they just got done rebuilding the engines, which I didn't believe. I gave up as the whole thing wasn't making me feel warm and fuzzy.

Yeah I think they were trying to pass along the work you did as work they just completed. At least that is the way it appeared. Chit he had the engines listed as 500HPs and when I called the owner said they were 454Mags. I figured out from the pics the were 450HPs.

They were the 450 hp blue motors!! Good thing we have OSO to let people know about stuff like this. The owner of the boat should just take it and get it fixed if it needs stringer work and transom work get it fixed and be done with it!!

Your buddy saw us launch our 33 up in Door County 2 years ago. He got you on the phone to tell you about it. Is the avatar the gal you were dating when I looked at your boat?
