I remember when we finished that boat at the AT factory. It was the very 1st 28 and ran really well with the twin small blocks!

My favorite ride was the 2011 NIOC poker run heading out of Milwaukee back to Racine. Winds kicking up from the southeast bringing a intimating look. The Savage got right on top and sliced through the occasional gaps without slamming. A handful of people came up to me afterwords commenting on how well this boat performed in that stuff. By far the best ride ever for me. Having a single engine - I probably would have passed on that ride. It would've been no fun being a cork, sideways, drifting in that stuff in the unlikely event something unforeseen had happened. |

Andy, PBC is great, or you can talk with Grand Sport Center too. Location in Lake in the Hills not far from you. Also selling a few a week this time of year. And dealers take trades, handle buyer financing, ship nationwide, etc. This stuff is a PITA for the personal seller.

Always thought that was an interesting setup. What kind of speeds do you see with that on Lake MI?

112

yep 6ft'ers is all it takes to hit 112.
Before engine rebuilds with slight cam and valve train upgrades 71 in Florida on labbed props. Last year after rebuilds and stock B1 24's prop's 200 RPM's more on Lake Michigan. Never brought the GPS yet. It's definitely faster, especially the acceleration, than the Florida trip. Unless someone comes to me...... it will have labbed B1 26's, and the 1" spacers removed (per Pat's advice) this summer. Might try turning in also??? My guess 75+ max after. Again, it's not how fast it is, it's how well it goes fast. So yeah, 112 on 6ft'ers. |
That's a great setup, though. Decent speeds, reliable, and I bet your GPH is friendly as well. It's really comforting to have twins on Lake MI for longer trips, too. Surprised we didn't see more of those rigged that way.
