Tantrum is the model name, made by Active Thunder, it is there 25 footer.. |
Active Thunder is the make.
Tantrum is the model; which is the 25 footer; no longer made. |
If I read your question correctly the Tantrum is just a model name for the old 25.
|
Wow I guess I type too slow. :D

I saw that last night, looks like a nice boat, I would definitely be interested if he was closer to book value, looks to be about 8k to 9k over..
Value is based on what someone will pay for the said item. Good luck on your search! |

In my honest opinion, you can’t apply “book value” to a manufacturer like Active Thunder. These boats were not mass produced and were ordered and made for someone that has a passion for the sport and product. Anyone that has ever owned a tantrum or rode in one can tell you that there is no better bang for the buck. Th Tantrum is a true 25 foot with amazing freeboard that keeps you safe in the rough water. Spending a few more dollars is well worth it. Good luck with your search.

Hey Sydwayz, thanks for the link, Great news! , I am in the process of buying this Tantrum. Have one glitch, the current owner does not have a title for the trailer as they are not needed in Tennessee, but I do need one here in Minnesota. I did contact the previous owner also from Michigan about this, but it's not looking good for any info from him. The biggest problem is the bank needs the trailer VIN to complete the loan, I know I can always apply for a new one once I get it home. Just seeing if anyone on here has any other ideas? I did send an email to the factory (Active Thunder) asking if they had any original documentation when it was sold, but haven't heard back yet. Thanks in advance for any info... |
If they are not REQUIRED in Tennessee, chances are that's a good place to HAVE ONE MADE by their DMV since they are "lackadaisy" about it. There is likely a VIN on a tag on that trailer somewhere, near the front, inside the frame rail or on the tongue. Have him look for it, or have him have a title created as a home-built trailer.

I did have him send me a pic, but it is worn out, and unreadable. I'm kind of getting short on time now, looking at traveling next week, I do have a plan B , so not a deal breaker, but I'll see what he says.. |
Most folks don't finance the trailer anyhow.
You will need separate bills of sale for each to register in your state anyway. Example: Total agreed purchase price:$50,000 Boat $49,000 Trailer: $1000 |
If in a bind over the trailer, Look up Maine trailer registrations. Many people have done it this way as they make it not only simple (a few do online reg's) but cheap too.
edit: you can do a search on OSO for maine trailer registrations also....these threads come up time to time. |

Maybe not the most cost effective but buy a POS trailer of preferably the same brand. Register it. Use that plate. If the VIN isn’t clear for anyone to read is it really gonna be a problem? I have a flat bed trailer and my boat trailer. NY wants 100 bucks a year for trailer registration per trailer. I just switch the plates! |
Hi Guys,
Well I pulled the trigger and got the Tantrum I was dealing on from Tennessee! It's a 1998 with 502 MAG, around 410 hours. Left Minnesota last Thursday and spent 4 days on the road to Tennessee and back. Took it out for a sea trial, and was impressed, wow! coming from my little 19 ft. bow-rider is quite a jump.. Needs a little TLC, and cleaning, but is very solid overall, very impressed with the build quality. P.S. I did get the trailer info, it was stuck in the back of the 3 ring binder the guy had for me. |
Awesome. Are you a paying member? I’d love to see some pics or post a Facebook link for us!

It’s a scam. It is my boat. It is not for sale. It is in NY. My boat pops up as a scam every month or so. |
Thought so

For sale

I would be willing to do a gauging interest on my Tantrum....we ran the fun run this year on the Hudson.
