AT 28 and 33 AVH-DDC hull???

Jesse James,
What would be the advantage to go with the Non-Step in the 32. (33?) I know there are differing pionts of view. I was thinking about a 28 AVH w/ a monster single. Im not sure that set-up will get me to the speeds I would like because of the shorter hull. Now a 32 AVH would be interesting because you should be able to get some impressive top end out of reliable power.
What is the fastest anyone is running the conventional 32 and what power?

The problem with a 32 avh is no freeboard at the transom. That's why it never happened. Take approx. 3.5"s out and look at what you have. Of course that is based on an insert in the 32 mold.
The 33 avh is based out of the 37 mold. The beauty of this is that the lifting strakes in the AVH end at the step so a smaller part out of the mold is not affected by strake lift. Instead by the DDC design comes into play.
So why not a 32 avh based on the 37? The boat will lose it's curb appeal as a muscle boat and kinda lean towards the humpty-dumpty look at the transom. The 33 avh will be closer to 33' 6" and will retain the muscle boat look that we like.

Hey Jass,
Its been a while. I ended up selling the 700s and bought a pair off blown 572s 825hp at 4psi. I got a screaming deal I couldn't pass up. I havn't dialed the boat in yet. So far it ran 98mph with the 32s in flat water on a 85-90 degree day bouncing off the bump box at 6000rpms. You thought the old motors pulled hard, you wouldn't believe how much harder these pull. I just bought a set of 2" shorties and a pair of 5 blade hydros. I'll have an idea in the next week or so were I really stand. I project 100-105 in the summer heat,we'll see.
Obnoxious
