John cooked the upper in the XZ a few weeks ago, but it is all fixed now. The boat is running fine, but still has a sooting issue but not as bad as before.
The boat is great but I have my reservations on the 525EFI and how rich it runs.
I am no merc mechanic but maybe a ECM mods should correct this problem? who knows. I have several other friends with this motor, and they do not have this problem with there boats and transoms. I guess time will tell.

I still say the computer system on the older 525s had a glitch.
