as i said earlier in this post i have been in a 33 pp w/ 500s and i own a 32 a/t (audacity) that was bought new by joe skrocki who races the big boys and is the tech editor of extreem boat magazine enough said. there is no comparson in the 33 pp and 32 a/t the a/t is much better ride in the rough, and faster, power for power my 2000 32 w/ 500s will run 86 on gps all day and has hit 90, the power play i was in wasent even close w/ same power and about same year. so unless youve been in them both and know what the he||
you are talking about like i do you might want to get the facts before you mouth off. i have owned a 25 a/t and now a 32 and will be ordering a 37 soon or a 43 :drink: thats a fact mr thedonz  32 thunder rick |
Re: Who bought RadioActive?
I am going to start posting on the PP and what ever other owners forum about how much better AT is than the other boat and we will see if I dont get the same reaction, think about it have a little respect when you come in our section and start barking about how much better your boat is......????

Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Excursion, I appreciate your position and would feel the same way, but blowing your stack is probably exactly what Woody was looking for. :evilb: BTW, I don't put much relevance in the opinion of a current owner myself. Who would call their own boat a POS? Always ask the guy that changed brands of boats or has bought the same brand more than once, he'll tell you what you want to know. I don't know how anybody can knock the ride quality of any boat that they have not personally driven. Build quality is easy, but I don't get the my boat rides better than yours stuff. You've been around here since 2002, you know you have to save some fight for January and February. :D :D

Re: Who bought RadioActive?
BGIII, To answer your question, I have driven 33 PP, and I did not like the ride or the way things were laid out on the boat, I must have driven 6 or 7 different boats before I chose the 32 AT, but it also had to have the rest of the package for me,cabin, engine compartment and quality, and AT had the best overall. I am brand loyal and would tell the truth if somehing with the boat could be improved upon. I have had more than just AT's in my boating carreer. I might have only been around here for a short while but what does that have to do with real boating? I have been in and out of boats my whole life and love all types just not big&fast. I enjoy looking at all boats and drewled all over some at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
I do have to tell you that we were signing up to go onto a 5.6 million dollar yacht and had to fill out a piece of paper with the broker on what type of boat we had at the present time and when I told him Active Thunder he said no! not the name of your boat but the manufactuer, that put me in perspective about how small performance boating is in the boating industry. Have a great and safe holiday. |
Re: Who bought RadioActive?
:D :D I know the small manufacturer thing well, hell I own the only 34 Enforcer that Saber has ever made. :D :D
BTW, I didn't mean my post to sound like I was bustin on you. I was talking about some of the hard heads around here that think there boat is the only decent thing ever built. Take it easy. |

Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Hey fellas----time for another commerical message!
I really enjoy my 32' A/T---with lots of engine room space for easy maintenance, center or side entrance cabin option, nice lines/profile. It's a fast yet nice riding little wave cutter with a ton of freeboard. Yep---gotta love those Active Thunders! It's kinda like being in the U.S. Marines without actually being IN the Marines--------------we're an elite bunch! :) Back to you guys. |
Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Powerplay Vs Active Thunder??? They Are Both Great Quality South Florida Built Boats And Love Rough Water But......pp Has Had Some Serious Financial Woes In The Past And Many Unhappy Bus. Dealings. Active Thunder, On The Other Hand, Has Had No Such Problems And Pat Always Stands Behind His Product. I Should Know; I Used To Work There!!!

Re: Who bought RadioActive?
How fast is Kevin's "Outlaw" 37 AT with the #6's & the big power? Steve E.(Jupiter Palsare)...Surfs up dude! Ed

Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Ed, I Only Saw Kevin's Outlaw 37avh Run When It Was An F2 Boat. Don't Know How Fast It Is Now Or What Is Powering It; The Boat Is A Great Looking A/t Though, By The Way, How Have Ya Been??

Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Steve...Been doing great! Thanks for asking. Are you working in some type of sales capacity up in Jupiter? Automotive? Marine? Got to love that incredible water world in and around the Jupiter/Tequesta/Hobe Sound area! Grew up in North Palm Beach. Great memories. Ed

And also what the he!! does a race boat have in common with my boat except the hull, I dont see many race boats with a head, water system,TV, A/C, and Full cabin, I guess you would only buy what is in the winner circle at that time????[/QUOTE] Excursion; RELAX buddy, if you look back you'll see that I stated my next boat would prob. be a 37' AVH, so I was simply seeing how many are out there so I know what kind of chance I have of getting one when the finances line up for me. I remember you telling someone yours might be for sale, so if anything you might want to kiss a little DKwestern butt cause I might be a potential buyer down the road. :D :D :D I'll attach a pic of my boat so you can see how many I see on a regular basis that look just like mine(Like a Sea Ray); that is half the reason I bought the thing; it is far less of a cookie cutter than most boats (Except BGIII's). |
Re: Who bought RadioActive?
You can see by the pic, that I regularly see boats just like mine cruising Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, and Lake St. Clair evey weekend I go out!!!! :p :p :p
Pat, I may take you up on that ride if I make it to the Miami show. (and thanks for being mild tempered and realizing this is actually a very positive thread for Active Thunder and not an "Attack"). I also agree on your Lake Michigan comment about test driving your boat there, it is the real deal when talking about rough water!!!!!!! Later fellas, Darren |
Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Ed, Glad To Hear You Are Well. For The Last 4 Years I Have Been A Finance Manager At Sherwood Pontiac/gmc Trucks In Delray Beach. I Am Still Playing With Fast Boats But On A Smaller (more Affordable And Fun) Level. Currently Running A 21' Checkmate Pulsare/merc 225 Efi At Over 72mph And A Blast To Drive.... Dk Western, That Is A Nice Looking Pp You Have There! Moving To An Active Thunder 37avh Would Be A Great Step Up.

Glad you are here. And, you are right, you don't even know bad water until you are on Michigan. I'm always around and always ready for a boat ride. Never hesitate to just show up! When it's all said and done we are all exactly alike. "A bad day on the boat is better than a good day at work". I stole that cliche from a bumper sticker but it's the truth. Eisenberg, Any connections on the new Vette? The Cobra is worn out and I miss my Vette. Stop by. Pat |
Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Excuse, me if I came accross a little strong ( maybe alot) but I am that guy with little tolerance, Nice looking PP very different.
Thought I was going to sell, went for a ride at the end a the season on a 43 Black Thunder after a day of boating, I changed my mind, did not handle very well, wind moved it around alot , and the ride was not as nice as the AT, on the plus side was the big cabin, did I say big,,huge..... but for right now I am making some changes in the AT cabin to make it a little better for weekending refrig,generator... but they are one hell of a boat and if you ever want to test drive one mine is always here. |
Re: Who bought RadioActive?
PAT, I ALWAYS HAVE CONNECTIONS!!! HOW ABOUT A 2005 GTO WITH 405 HP; CAN YOU SAY CORVETTE WITH A BACK SEAT?? BY THE WAY, I HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON AND SAY HI TO STEVE, MIKEY, DAWN, ETC. FOR ME. I DON'T GET DOWN THAT FAR SOUTH IN THE JUNGLE ANY MORE, BUT IF I DO I WILL CERTAINLY STOP IN TO VISIT AND MAYBE GO FOR A BOAT RIDE!!!

Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Heard the are fast and handle. There's an article in the exectutive library that I reread where they tested it against the '04 Cobra. I wish they had more definitive lines though. Just like the new 'Tang is missing scoops and stuff in their quest for retro. Don't like too rounded. So who runs that store? Tommy oversees it or just Pompano?
Jay Ross came by and let me drive his '05 Vette a coupla Saturdays ago. It's bad to the bone. Definitely the next vehicle to own! Crew says "hi". Stop by for a beer and happy holidays. It's not really a jungle. Pat |
Re: Who bought RadioActive?
Hey Pat You Are Correct In The Looks Deptartment! Muscle Cars Are Supposed To Be Full Of Scoops, Spoilers, Things That Shake, Etc. The Rounded Looks Don't Appeal To Me That Much Either But There Are Some Cool Aftermarket Hoods & Spoilers That Are Available For The Gto. They Run Like A Raped Ape And Do Handle Very Well; I'll Also Get You A Deal That Can't Be Beat. Tommy's Brother Owns The Store I Work For. Call Me At (561) 526-4294 And Keep The Actives Thundering!!!!

Re: Who bought RadioActive?

What's it like to be the smaller builder competing with Fountain, Cigarette, Formula or even Baja? Tough, very tough. Small staff. Limited funds. Limited customer base. Smaller advertising budget. But when we wake up in the morning and realize we are their competition it feels good. Damn good. I've had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Danny, Jay Ross, Bobby Saccenti, Jack Clark, just to name a few. Basically all good guys who share the love for boats. We all really try to produce something you like. Something you want. But each and every one of us has never sold out to the big corporate-guys and have continued to build you the very best offshore boats with out ever cutting a corner. Every boat has a high point and a low point. Every builder has his own way of doing things. If you don't like builder "A" there are a few others around the corner. When it's all said and done, don't we all like what we own at the moment? One day couldn't we all merge together and put our guts, our glory and our love for the sport in one arena to give the 'BIG DOGS' a real run for the water instead of their wallets? I agree with Woody, so let's continue to have some fun around here!!! Of course he will get the spanking he deserves when we see him on the water. Right guys? Patrick: What are you doing in 2008. Hilary needs some competition. |
