Who bought RadioActive?

The 37' Active Thunder from Jassman? And is it for sale again? Heard it might be for sale. Thanks, Ed

I believe Dan's 37 w/KE 675's were sold by Randy Sweers recently, is that the boat your talking about. Jeff

Here are a few shots of Thunder Storm and my boat Radio Active on the way to Key West. The pic was taken by Kieth and Audrey in a 45 Sonic w/triple 825's. We had a blast.

Note: the last pic is my favorite, right Dan. :p :drink:

Ed your right, Radio Active is for sale, Randy Sweers has it, the owner is building a #6 boat.

Jeff...Heard he is buying a new 37' Active Thunder with #6's & 1200 Cobra's!? Considering that RadioActive, driven by Ricky Racer, did 102 m.p.h. at Lake X with 2" short Sportmasters & 34" Labbed props turning 5,100 r.p.m's behind the 675 Eickerts...How fast is this new boat expected to perform?!!! Ed

To The Wood...Could not agree with you more about buying used, considering PP is still in bankrupcy as of this date & their inability to deliver, etc, etc, etc... But, let's get back to AT. Who would want to speculate how a 37' AVS Active Thunder would perform with Cobra 1200's & # 6 drives? Guesstimates anyone?

I think it would run alot better with TMP 1200 efi's, :p :D I dont know if there are any #6 - 37AVH's out there, that would be a Pat anwser.

Re: Who bought RadioActive?

I agree that is a wierd question. I would put both of the builders in the same category, and my next boat (used) will be either a 37 active thunder, 38 powerplay or 37 outerlimits. An Active Thunder will probably get the nod, because the used market values are the best value IMHO, the OL are sweet but I would have to buy a 4-5 year older boat in comparison for the same money, and there are only a few 38 PP that have been for sale and are all still out of my $$ range. It will be a few years before I trade up but I'm always looking.

I Also Agree With Your Statement.....but The Used A.t. Market Is What Scares Me ...... I Have Seen Some Beautiful A.t.'s Out There That Don't Sell And They Are Priced Very Cheap....i Do Feel That Boat For Boat The Powerplay Is A Better Boat.....as The Resale Price Shows.... I Have A 33 P.p. And I Can't Justify The Price Of Either The 37 A.t. Or The 38 P.p.

i own a 32 a/t and have been in a 33 power play w/ same power in both (500s) and about the same year, not because i own the a/t but it wins hands down, overall speed, and ride is better in the a/t and i like the helm better and also the cabin.

HEY,, Beat your Woody, if you have notoiced your in the wrong section to brag about your little 33 Power Puss!!! Boat for Boat , the A.T. would destroy the PP in all water conditions and the ride is not COMPAIRABLE.... I also think that how many 37AT's have been made vs the 38PP???? How many of those PP have sold that are in the used market and I dont see any of them bragging about how nice the boat is. So step the *uck off and go Play with your Woody!!!!

Guys, life's too short, this is just a frickin chat board. To anwser your Q's, My 37 A.T. Radio Active sold relatively quick. These 37 A.T.s are alot of value for the money. For low 200's you get a better riding hull, flies level, more effecient with the same power, and fit and finish is good, not excellent....but you are not paying the extra 100k like you do on the 38 PP, not to mention a BK company, and an arogant owner who will backstab you with a stake through your heart when not looking, trust me I know. I have looked at 2- 38 PP, the quality and rigging looks awesome, the hull sides and deck are very good, but no where near as perfect as the 33, which was redone numerous times after each boat came out of the mold. You have to take things into perspective, what you are paying for goods recieved, and to me the 37 A.T. is by far a better value, as well as is still in business, here to stay, and not in BK. Jeff

Re: Who bought RadioActive?

Woody,

Yeah. I hate to say I agree with you. However I truly appreciate the brand-loyality my owners smacked you with! You owners, past and present are the best! It's my fault for creating the half dozen boats that were resold at lower prices because I built them at cost for the exposure.

What's it like to be the smaller builder competing with Fountain, Cigarette, Formula or even Baja? Tough, very tough. Small staff. Limited funds. Limited customer base. Smaller advertising budget. But when we wake up in the morning and realize we are their competition it feels good. Damn good.

I've had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Danny, Jay Ross, Bobby Saccenti, Jack Clark, just to name a few. Basically all good guys who share the love for boats. We all really try to produce something you like. Something you want. But each and every one of us has never sold out to the big corporate-guys and have continued to build you the very best offshore boats with out ever cutting a corner.

Every boat has a high point and a low point. Every builder has his own way of doing things. If you don't like builder "A" there are a few others around the corner.

When it's all said and done, don't we all like what we own at the moment?

One day couldn't we all merge together and put our guts, our glory and our love for the sport in one arena to give the 'BIG DOGS' a real run for the water instead of their wallets?

I agree with Woody, so let's continue to have some fun around here!!! Of course he will get the spanking he deserves when we see him on the water. Right guys?

Pat i will have to agree with you on it but i still stand behind James on how a A/T handles and rides because i've rode in PP and it didn't impress me but you have to understand James' real name is HYPERACTIVE so give him a little slack if he thinks someone is dogging a A/T.Pat by the way I want to put in my order for a 43' same graphics as my 37' so have it ready for me in 2008.

OK , I am just sick of every other person talking about how there must be something wrong with AT's and how they are not selling. To your comment about 33 vs 37, I had a 1999 32 AT and Pat took me and my wife for a ride when we were on vacation 2 years ago in a 37 AVH, my 32 was forsale before I left Florida, it is TWICE the boat.
I apologize if I come across a little harsh but I am real passionate when it comes to boating
and thats why I named my boat" HYPERACTIVE",.....Thanks guys for backing me up.

I do guess that it is pretty good when everyone has so much to talk about AT and it is a small operation that puts out one of the best boats on the market today. I also would like to put in an order for 2009 on a 43 AT. Keep up the good work!

Thirty one 37 Active ddc's have been built to date. And our resident racer, Kevin Erim, and P1-44 Outlaw are listed on the home page of SBI under 2004 East Coast Platinum Series. So we do have a presence. Sometimes a little flamboyant, but a presence none the less.

OK, we have another Rebel here wishing he had a better riding, faster and more comfortable boat. What does how many boats produced a year have to do with how nice a boat is, I guess you want thousands of your manufacted boats(BAJA,FOUNTAIN) running up and down the water just like yours, NOT ME!!!!!!! I enjoy showing up at an event and you have the only boat like yours there and every one wants to see it. EXCEPT at the Richmond Poker Run (four showed up) I still had the first one in the area. So if its numbers you want to make you feel better about your purchase go on down to SeaRay and you will be right at home.

And also what the he!! does a race boat have in common with my boat except the hull, I dont see many race boats with a head, water system,TV, A/C, and Full cabin, I guess you would only buy what is in the winner circle at that time????

Good Grief :argue: :argue: Why are you guys always so defensive about everything? From what I can see Pat makes a hell of a boat, let it speak for itself. He is one of the few boat company owners with the balls to come on this site. You AT owners being so defensive about every little comment seems more than a little wierd.

BTW, I would hardly call dkwestern's 33 PP a production boat. It was a harmless question. How many boats do you think PP makes in a year? I doubt he was mocking production. You guys need to calm down.

Re: Who bought RadioActive?

all i have to say is that there's no way of comparing a PP to a AT. PP has proven it's self over and over and over again while AT hasn't really. PP was always in the top of the game in the early 90's when they were being raced a lot. i have riden numerious 33 PP and there is no boat that comes close to the comparision for that size range. even the 28 PP is bad ass. i haven't riden a new 38 PP so i have nothing to say about those. but the 33 PP is one bad ass ROUGH WATER boat not a lake boat but ROUGH WATER boat, which is what they were made for.

...We aren't in the early 90s. No offense by the comment either but I'm a Florida boy and don't know what a lake is except for Lake Michigan where I tested the product before I bought one and then the company. And the ocean ain't Lake Michigan.

On the bright side, this is great that you guys are watching the product and this forum. Anytime you want a beer and a boat ride, please call me. Thanks, and a great Thanksgiving to everybody!
