Yes, I do have the A/T fever. I'm on my 3rd Thunder. When you got the fever you want to go longer and faster. I have really enjoyed my Thunders. They are built great!Rock solid,
great in rough water, FAST, good lines and great resale value!!! Pat and Steve are great to work with. Before and after the sale. They will fix you up anyway you want it.
Miller you did see us in the Poker Runs America Mag. We were in Destin Fl. White beaches and clear water.
ummmm new cabin, 575's and free paint. I smell new glass already. :D :D
Thunderdan, I have 500efi's and run in the upper 80's

Hey Miller, I know we have the sea strainers, not sure on which fuel filters. We ordered the masterlubers-preoilers with the intention of whipplecharging in the future, for that added protection, of course.
I think Steve has had enough of our changes, Ive got him adding a few things on the paint to my boat, I think Ill leave him alone for a while ;)

Miller 12-10-2001 10:15 PM

I spoke to Steve today and got the distinct impression that he was feeling under-challenged by you and Dan...I'd hate for that to be true. :D

So, new paint? I bet it will look awesome when it's finalized. Your machine already looks wicked cool from the renderings.

Jassman 12-10-2001 10:16 PM

Oh, I just checked the A.T. site to see if my one and only paint changes have been done, and behold, a shock to my eyes, Dan ,was that your boat that got that mysterious red stripe and changes to the seat colors, or did I by chance miss that, you are really a ball buster, I must admit it looks awesome though, big improvement, gee, I cant wait to start picking out colors, and seat colors, bezels and stuff like that, its starting to get exciting :D

Jeff and Dan, are you guys having nose cones installed on your XRs? I know that Fountain used to have Bob's nose cones installed by having Merc ship the drives directly to the machine shop that makes Bob's nose cones. I've read here that the bravo drive is considered hydrodynamically unstable above 90mph or so and can lead to blowout do to some technical aspect of the design that was figured out by guys smarter than me. Don't know if the new XR lowers have this issue, but for the $300 or so a nose cone costs (installed) you may want to check it out since you're planning on Whippling them later on.

Yeahm made some more changes. Once we tried to get the name on the side it needed to change the layout. :D It really looks good, we are still messing with it a bit more trying out some other things with the paint but for the most part I am ALMOST done. ;)
Miller,
Yes I did kind of sence that Steve was looking for some things to do which is why we starting changing the paint a bit. :D

thunderdan 12-11-2001 01:28 PM

Miller,
It is funny that you mentioned that. I was just doing an internet search on the nose cones. It is a good question to ask, and I will see what Pat has to say. You know what they say"great minds think alike." See ya tomorrow. :D :D

Miller 12-11-2001 02:20 PM

Dan, I just found an article on Bob's Machine Shop in Florida and the Bob's Nose Cone that they make and install. I'll email you the details. The article confirms what that Merc used to send bravos to the shop for Fountain before the drives were installed on new Fountain pleasureboats. It costs $300 to have a nose cone installed and takes anywhere from 2-5 days. The work is covered by a 2 year warranty.
