Politicle correct form, its just not a true custom offshore boat, nothin wrong with it just different strokes for different folks. There is custom, semi-custom,production boats, at all different phases of quality construction and prices. Lick n stick is a term used for a production boat, Ive owned three previously, all great boats, with my Powerquest being the nicest, We just want something totally done our way, our specs and anything that we wanted Active Thunder obliged. They are a great company, and offer an awesome boat, with meticulas specs at reasonable prices. If you ever get a chance you are welcome to take my boat out w/Pat when finished and make your own comparison, it should be done end of May or beginning of April. Good luck to you and your family, have a Merry Christmas, hope to see you at some poker runs next year :)

Jassman,
Let me know when your boat is done and you're planning your sea trial. Tracy and I will be heading down sometime the end of April or beginning of May to pick my boat up for the summer. I usually take a week over on the other side of the state near Ft. Myers. Merry Christmas also. |
Hey Todd and Tracy, Merry Christmas, The boat is suppose to be done end of march beginning of April, Ill keep you posted, its going to be a fun year next year :D thanks and take care. :)

Jassman,
Thanks for the clarification. I really had never heard them called that before. It makes sense... LOL. Based on my experience thus far on my 34 PQ which is in it's last week of being built; I believe that PQ will do customizing (semi-customizing) for their high end boats. I have specified every surface color and customized my paint along with several other items like placement of controls, types of equipment installed and even had special order items put in. I tried to get that level of committment from Scarab or Formula and they would not have it. I will agree that AT is definitely more in tune with the definition of "custom" boat maker but I have been extremely impressed and happy with PQ's level of customization (semi-customization). What you have is a AWESOME ride and I took a hard long look at the AT but was personally not as satisfied with the size and quantity of options (for the price) that I was able to finagle on my new PQ. If AT could/would have done what I wanted for the price I was willing to spend, I would be in that factory watching it being built as we speak. Oh well... maybe next time I will be willing to part with the $$$ to get the 37. That would be my next move. PS- I love the 37 AT. That's an awesome ride. A little out of my league coming from a 26 Scarab. After a few seasons in a 34 I will be ready to jump up another level. In the mean time, I have to learn how to drive all over again. To me that sounds like fun and I can't wait until March! :D Merry Christmas Dave ;) |
Hey ThunderDan, Jassman and the rest of you guys,
H20 hasn't posted his purchase yet, huh! Well, I just told him to do "whatever he wants". I am totally ambivalent to what kind of boat we buy now.....just don't care anymore. Go ahead....Ask me why. Ok, I'll tell you. Just go check out Active Thunder's website and pull up Advertisements. Check out the one going into Powerboat on 02/02. I realize that the name was Thunderousdaze's idea, but come on...Now everybody will think that we copied the name from the Ad. Guess that's what happens when you take a long time to make the right decision on a boat purchase :( So am I being a B**** or what. What do you guys think???? |
Oh...I forgot...Have a very Merry Christmas too. So much for my big present under the tree. Guess I'll have to settle for Blue Latex on someone else's boat :D
|
TBIKINI - is your decision based on the name availability? Thats weird! If you would make up your mind(s), you can probably beat the ad to the newsstand...don't use that as your EXCUSE! What can be possibly holding up your decision? Everything you write is very positive, everything everyone else says is positive...it's not like your thinking about a no-name product, so what gives?

M.E.R.R.Y. C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S to EVERYBODY!!! :)
Tbikini, don't worry, everyone here knows "you and H20" gave us the ThunderEnLightening idea! Jassman, ThunderDan, i just got an email from Pat, and it looks like you guys will have a new buddy here next week...Pat just got a commitment from someone he has known for a while...another 37 and this guy says that all the paint drawings we have done are boring, wants it "kicked up a notch" for his...i love the challenges... :D ANYWAYS, everyone be safe and have a merry christmes...be in the office in the am! ;) |
Merry Christmas,
Tbikini, Take a chill pill, did someone pea in your eggnog? :p :D You are way overreacting. The name Thunder enlightening has been around before, I was going to name my boat that. Anyway, everyone who reads powerboat is probably familiar with OSO, and knows that H20 has been crouching on the pot for months now, so I do not think that anyone will think that you took the name. Anyway, it will only make a difference if you get a thunder, you won't name a formula thunder enlightening. That is just an excuse and a weak one, no offense, you need to keep the thunder boat the first choice in h20's mind, do not give up, he will eventually make the right decesion. :D Merry Christmas. Dan PS you are welcome in your blue and white latex any time. :D :D [ 12-25-2001: Message edited by: thunderdan ] |
