Re: AT & Chief ????

I would just like any details of where AT is headed, Has AT been sold? Whats Pats involvement? Is he still the owner?
Just would like to know??

Why cant the boats be built under both names and let the customer deciede if they want an AT logo or Chief.

Car manufactures do this all the time, Honda & Isuzu, Toyota & Chevy , Chrysler & Mistsubishi, and so on.......

Do hate to see the AT logo go away.

Not to crazy, about the Indian paint schemes looks like an Apache, need some thing more orginal.
Just me

Not a huge fan of the Indian heads all over but...to each his own. I'm seeing it this way....some boats will have the Chief hulls and some boats will have the AT hulls. Depending on what size you want. Maybe I'm wrong....(I have been in the past)!! All in All it's Change and you can't stop it......I like the old Active Thunder emblem that came on my boat....but I came to like the oval emblem and was willing to change, then the wife found a vinyl place that can make us replacements so I'm stickin' witth the old style.....for now!! :D

James, I found and old picture of your boat at the AT factory when I was down in '01-'02? I'll scan it and send it to ya!!

I agree with James, the Active Thunder Name and Logo should stay or be an option. A friend of mine just received literature on the new McManus Line of boats and the 42 Chief looks almost Identical to the APACHE????

Just my .02 cents

Re: AT & Chief ????

I hear that my boat's down at Pat's shop. From reading this thread I can see how loyal Pat's customers are. This is a testimonial to the quality of boats he creates and how well he takes care of his customers. I can't wait to see what he's going to do to my 42.

From a purely business standpoint, the merging of the two entities makes total sense. (to me at least)

Both companies are strategically and fundamentally aligned into building safe rough water boats.

One company builds great rough water boats in the 28-37 foot range but has no options for a larger boat. The other company builds a 42' and soon to be a 47' but offers its customers nothing smaller.

In most cases, its cheaper to acquire or partner with a company that already does what you're trying to accomplish than to develop and build it yourself. SBC acquiring AT&T is an example of that.

So, in my mind, this makes total sense. By combining, they can offer a complete line of offshore boats not to mention build off of their combined experience.

There's no doubt, (my opinion again), that Bobby will add constructive ideas to the 28/32/37 and that Pat will do the same for the 42 and 47 making the whole Chief line better. Good for the consumer, good for the company, good for boaters overall.

Re: AT & Chief ????

I understand what you are doing from a business point, but why get rid of the Active Thunder name all together?
It is a shame that it finally gets some recogonition and now the AT name is history. WHY????? Chief has been around alot fewer years and does not have a true customer basis but thats the new name?? Please explain.

Guy's,
Big isn't always better believe me a lot of good is lost when companies merge together for the most part. Everyone becomes a number unlike the way that Pat has run his business to date.
I personally like the Active Thunder name and what it stands for over the Chief name, not that Chief is a bad boat. Active Thunder sounds like it has testosterone and as mentioned before is finally getting the attention that it deserves.

Re: AT & Chief ????

Ive been very quiet and decifering the information that past 4 months. In all, I think this merger is great for the New co. (CHIEF) and as well as for Active Thunder. Pat does have a loyal following, and builds one hell of a good looking and running boat for the dollar. I was pleased with Radio Active. This will put him the larger spectrum with the 42 and 47. Pat has always liked the offshore old school look, which the Chief has. Bobby has been around for a while, he doesnt need to work, but does for the passion of what he loves to do, build some of the finest power boats made today. I also feel Bobby will add some refinement over time to Active Thunders 28, 33, and 37's, which will help resale over the long hall. Bottom line when you put a bunch of top quality guys together, and have a properly funded boat co. only good things can happen. Good luck Gentlemen.

Pappo, your boat looks awesome, post some speeds when you break her in. Jeff

Re: AT & Chief ????

I agree with Jassman (post #30). I believe with the merger things will only get better. Chief may be new, but Bobby Seccenti isn't!!! I believe with Bobby Seccenti (spelling?) in there that the boats are only going to be better built structure wise i.e. lamination schedules, finish work, etc.---not that they weren't before, but I think with Bobby S in there it will only re-enforce, and bolster everything to a higher standard, and level.

Congrats to Pat and A/T and the Chief crew.
