In reference to the HTM accident, i am sure there is a difference in going 150mph in a 30' cat and 100mph in a 37 vee (which is probably average for a boat like that!)

I agree with Miller, screamin and jassman on this. I am not worried about the speeds with the power. The hull can handle those speeds. I will take it easy (no 100 mph) with my family on board. I am looking at 675 hp motors. My feelings are very similar to what Jassman said, I live every day to the fullest, and I have and always will take every precaution to ensure myself and my family and friends are safe. I feel that if it is my time to go, then it is my time. Live life to the fullest with no regrets. :)

Thunderdan, what sort of speeds are you anticipating with 675 hp motors? By my calculation that should put you around 110 mph. Is that right?

I think we will be happy with 104-106, or 100 at any given time with full tank of gas and 5 naked chicks. :D

Jassman, which custom motor builder have you decided? Are these new motors going to be about the same price as the 500 EFI's? Do they come with a warranty?

We should be about 105, with 1/4 fuel, looking for 100mph full of fuel, if I had to guess. We are looking at Cobra right now and doing some research. There are a ton of cigs, outerlimits and fountians that are using cobra power so I am making some calls tomorrow to see what the dilly is. They are not the same amount of coin as a 500efi, more dollars, you gotta pay to play though if you want the speed. I also have not ruled out going to look at some of the other engine builders like eikert, pfaff or richie zul. :D :D

Looking forward to seeing you guys for the Tickfaw 200 this year. We're headed down to Charlie's place this weekend to register for the Krewe of Wrecks Mardi Gras Boat Parade. Should be a kick, as most of Charlie's parties usually are. Jass, been keeping track of your boat's progress on GCOffshore. Met Craig and Dave at the Emerald Coast Poker Run last year. Nice guys with a great site for us Gulf Coast boaters. I hear the graphics on your rig are going to be awesome. I'll try to make it a point to meet you guys at the Poker Run. Kinda put a face with all of these screen names.

Croozin2, I agree with ya, puting a face with a screen name, at least its good to know that there are three of you guys from our area on this board. I will make that TicFa run just let me know where and what I have to do to sign up. That will be my first poker run of the year. Then I will go for the Emerald coast (DESTIN) run and then maybe the one in Texas, I need at least 2 more to make my year complete. I cant wait until my boat is finished, getting exciting, picking out the Corian countertops and the metal and wood cabinetry trim. They have to build a custom hatch to house them 750hp Cobras, thats going to be cool, I want to incorporate some kind of square scoops as well. Active Thunder is a great co. they really specialize what ever you can dream up with and come up with some of their own neat ideas. To date its been the best experience I've ever had buying a boat. I'll talk to later :D

Jass, Tickfaw 200 is always the first Satuday in May. I think it's the 4th this year. There is a registration party here the Thursday before at one of the local watering holes if you were planning on coming in that early, or I can get Charlie to mail you an entry form. I store my boat at Blood River Landing so I see him on a fairly regular basis. Just let me know. You can email me on it if you want. Let me know about the Texas run, also. Is that the Clear Lake run you're talking about? Read about it in Powerboat last year. Looks like a great run. There's also a good one at Lake Travis in Austin. Little farther to haul but great scenery. Later.

What steering wheel do you guys think would look best, give me some input. The interior will mainly be purple, so red, green, yellow, or purple, thanks. :D

Sorry, it will not be ready by then. Looks like you are going to just be able to look. I like the new dash, did it change? ;) It looks killer, I would try and stay with the purple color for the steering wheel, what color bezels did you go withm ,aybe match the wheel with those. ;)

Steve just threw in the Moster Gauges, it looks awesome, check it out, I kinda like green, Im going to post on the other board to get me some more confused. :D

I love the dash. I like it better with the extra purple. Are you going with the blue gauges? I think bright yellow gauges and wheel would look good. It's hard to tell until you actually see them in place. Lime green ones might also look good. You have to be going crazy with all the choices.
