what should be the top speed.

Hi,

I bought a 1997 Victory advantge 27 footer that sat in a warehouse till now and it only has 14 hours on it, looks brand new and I love the boat.

It has a 502 mercury with bravo 1 and 4 blade 22p labed prop.

motor pitched up all the way at 5000 rpm it runs 59 miles at top speed.

Is that what top speed for this boat ?

Any simple thing that could be done to this motor to get more HP and gain speed ?

thanks

Edwin

Sounds about right for speed.
Get air to the engine room. Helped my Cat breathe better and gained.
What prop on it now?
the 27's were not great on speed out of the box new.
Exhaust, but that is pricey.

Best optoin is prop to start with.

I have a 22p 4 blade labbed...............is that same as 24p not labbed ? what rpm are you running at 62-63 mph ?
have you done anything to the motor or completely stock ? do you have trim tabbs ? they helped my 23.5 carrera classic gain few miles, will they do any good on 27 footer ?
thanks
