I think I,m going to need to buy antifreeze by the 55 gal drum!!! We'll see how she runs, save up some$$$, Going to go with the box, -2, Hydro steering all at once, come spring.

that will wake that bad boy up. Which box are you going with?

I talked with Scott at Advantage last week and he definitely recommended the shorty but said from their experimenting, they didn't pick up any mph with a box. So, I am looking for a -3 now ad hydro steering. I did get 67 mph at Havasu with a labbed 26p. Think I had enough power to run a 28. 70... here we come!

Just get ya a 32 Victory with twin big blocks. Even with Mags, I could hit 74. The HOs really opened it up too. Does your 28 have steps?

I didn't know that Advantage did any experimenting with extension boxes. I think the main reason for the extension box is actually to help handling. In the low 70s, I'm not sure you would notice. Many fast single Vs run the extension box to improve handling when they start going 90+. Looking forward to seeing your results with the -3!

Tror, what do you have for air into the engine?
Not for sure, and not saying anything bad, but Advantage has always lacked air into the bilge!
I really changed my performance when I added the scoops. Not saying that is the way for you to go.
Just saying when I first brought mine home I had a hard time with numbers, after many tests and runs I cracked the hatch just a touch and gained over 300rpm! Really could tell the response @ wot.
The following spring I had the hatch scoops done @ Advantage.

Next time out, just bump the hatch open an inch or so. BECAREFUL! not to go too much and have a blow off!!!!!!

Couple of things: 28 has plenty of air it's a single engine with a very large bilge area. It has fresh air at each beam plus air vents and Pockets when the hatch is closed. Let's close the air issue. My 28 ran a summer with a 1200 hp plant. It takes a huge amount of power to sled a 23 dead rise boat through water. Thor is correct, boxes will gain u a bit of speed because you create more overall bow lift with less hull in the water. But more importantly, the boxes will stabilize that Victory at 80. Have you had that so called flat bottom to 80. 23 degrees is pretty flat. 80 is a handfull at 80. Yes guys will boast I blasted mine to oblivion, but hit a roller at 80 in a 28! After cleaning up the mess from a bowl loss, you'll thank the lake god for not calling your number. Put the boxes on, raise the drive and hand on. 32 & 34 are twin engines. Totally different beast to a fairly light 28. And a moon diff from a cat. Steering and boxes! Or enjoy the fun 28 and crank it up with a 32 or 34.

Sorry I meant Tomorrow 44 on the boxes. Stability and speed you'll have a fast fun day on the water. Speed and no stability, you'll wish your drive broke.

You were running 1200 hp in a 28 Victory? I'd love to hear more about your set up. What drive, x-dim, prop, speed, etc? PM me if you want.
Thanks.
