Awesome boat man! We have a 27 Victory. What engines are you running in it? Is it 496s? that should be a fast boat, shoudl run high 70s, maybe even get to 80 w/ the closed bow. You can always put Whipples on it and send it into the 90s!
Good luck with your new boat

ToMorrow44, I'm running twin 496HO's w/Bravo X drives - I hope the drives hold up. Estimates will put it at about 75. We have the open bow/mid cabin.

Anyone have inmput regarding the Mercruiser extended warranty and if it is needed in this configuration??????? We need to know by this weekend.

Hey Ted,

It's me Chris......I was the one in the 27 that pulled in next to you , Chip & the gals on Saturday evening in the channel.

I saw your pix last week here on the board, but I didn't put two&two together until I spoke to Bill at Advantage on Sunday afternoon. The boat looks great !!!

I remember your post on the board around the end of May talking about the estimated speed of the 30 w/twin 496MAG HO's. How did my speed estimate do ??

See you at the Regatta........

CJG

Hey Chris! Maybe next time we meet, we will remember to introduce ourselves better J/K

Well, as far as the top speed, I have been good on the break in and have not yet "aired it out." At 3800 (max for breakin) she goes about 64 non-gps. Redline is 5K so I expect the 75-80 is about right with four adults and a full tank.

See ya at the regatta!

Hey guys, sorry it took so long to reply. In HotBoat, they tested the 30 open bow and said they had a 1000lbs worth of fuel and people and still ran 78. so thats what yours should run on a normal day at havasu. you should ask advantage and see if they've done any 30s w/ the 496's and whipples. that would be a great boat with 640hp a piece. you would have to upgrade the drives though. i suggest the Teague Platinum Shaft drives or Imco, both will hold up. But for now, the 496's will have plenty of power. good luck with the boat and the break-in.

Just got back from the Regatta this weekend. We broke the motors in and briefly aired it out at about 76 on the speedo. It got a little loose so I settled it back down to 65. That's with four adults, two kids and 100 gal of fuel, not to mention two coolers and other CR#$P along.

Once I get the trim dialed in, this should run even better.

Chris,

I took my Garmin out this last weekend and recorded 78 on gps with chip and his wife, mine and over 750lbs of fuel. didn't even redline it.

Your seat bases will look great when they are powdercoated. I was thinking about that for mine but decided we needed the silver to compliment the dash.

Gotta take it back for a water and p/s oil leak fix.

will you be out for the rod show this weekend? we probably will go.

Ted.
