Engine Hatch

Im trying to hunt down and find an engine hatch with white interior for a AO 2600. Anything or infor helps. Thanks

Rottiguy 03-09-2010 09:01 PM

do you have a hatch and need the padding? Or are you missing everything? I have a guy building a hatch for a 31 and a 26, pretty cheap.

Can u get any pics of the hatch for the 26? and what do u call cheap?

AO31 03-11-2010 02:02 PM

What type of hatch is he building? Been wanting to lighten up that hatch for some time.

Rottiguy 03-11-2010 02:44 PM

for the 3100 its a honeycomb panel wrapped in glass with two scoops. for the 26 he has a mold so it can be layed up pretty light. No pictures yet, but I will take some as soon as he has one of them done. He is doing the 3100 first, no more wood or padding on mine, raising it 4'' so the top will be even with the top of the headrest. He guessed it would weigh in at 60-70lbs. I have no idea what a stock one weighs, but mine was still wet and my boat has been inside for the last six months. He is also going to reinforce the hinge area so it can be through bolted. I will keep yall updated

Through bolt hinge is a good idea and that is huge weight savings over stock. Would love to know more.

any pics of the 26 hacth?

Rottiguy 04-11-2010 09:32 PM

no pics of the 26 hatch yet, the 31 hatch weighs in at 62 lbs so far. Still need to paint it and put the head rests back on. I can stand on it and it doesn't flex at all. The mold we have is for a nsx, dont the 2600's have the seats built into the hatch?

outlaw26 04-11-2010 10:56 PM

i have an nsx and the headrests are made on the hacth

Rottiguy 04-12-2010 08:45 PM

Brian, would you consider making the same engine cover without the twin raised hatches?
