Blown,

Congrats on the new boat! You will really enjoy it! I did the same thing yoou did with power. Started out with a 502/480 for now....but as you can see I am going to have to step up to the blower soon as my Bajahahaha buddys are giving me sh#$! I could talk trash to them but I won't. I'll just prove it on the water!!

Allan.............COME GET SOME!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Guys, yea I'm excited to get it and to sell my carrera, to pay for it. The boats name is going to be shameless, so maybe shameless kitty????
No blower yet unless my carrera doesnt sell till after winter, then the blower may get switched. I'm trying not to worry about it yet.
Probably should get a little seat time b4 I throw the big hp at it.
So what speed do you guys think i will get with the 502/500 1.50 gears???

Ittlfli......

For those of you who don't know, my badgering of Ittlfli is a direct retaliation of about 3 straight years of abuse that I recieved from, well, his entire family!!!!!!! Then I repowered......and a few things changed...HeHeHe..

So.....I need to talk some quick smack before I help him build a blower motor this winter. Then I will be about 20 + mph in the hole.....again

HAHAHAHAAAAA, if I were a cat guy, I'd have an AO for sure, later boys, I need to go take some more Ritalin/Vodka chasers.........Allan4

Hey Blowncarrera, I would prefer 1.36 gears. I think you will have better prop options. I have a 1.36 gears in mine. I am running a EFI 468 procharged with 7 psi. Fully loaded with fuel and passengers I use a 4 blade bravo one prop. When I want more speed I switch to a 28. I think with a stock 502 you will see about 71-73 mph.

Goodwrench, thanks, I was told that with my power I would probably benefit more with the 1:50 gears in it, and if i went to blower, then the 1:36 would be better at the higher hp, but then I would probably want to upgrade the drive anyways with the extra hp cuzz neither the stock 150 or 136 would probably hold together very long with the added hp. Any thoughts appreciated
before the drive goes on.
I'm coming from an arneson drive, so I'm a little weak in the outdrive expertise dept. All help accepted.

I have a stock bravo one with the exception of a nose cone. I estimate my hp around 575. Mine has held together fine since new in 1998. Its really all how you drive. You have to ease into the throttle getting on plain. I know a guy who had an NSX and blew 3 drives with a stock 502. He would just nail it and the drives did not last.

That nsx your talking about has to be the one in San Diego. I hope your estimation of 71-73 is low. I ordered a gps speedo so there wont be any cheatin when we test it.
