talked to ed and steve today on phone. not a good day for scott. i wish he would of done what he was supposed to . i am very disappointed. this is a bad day for AMERICAN OFFSHORE POWERBOATS. steve told me that him and art will make things right. its to bad. both ed ,steve and art built a excellent product over the years. great performance for the buck. :( :(

On a lighter note, did you order those intercoolers from Whipple?
If you get the intake charge cooler, maybe that'll help keep the head gaskets in place and still make more power.

I'd like to get a pair, but need to wait. Besides, my boat's in "insurance scheduled" lay-up till March.

If anyone really knows whats going on, please update. Is AO in trouble because of Scott? Is Art and Steve D going to bail out the Co. they are really two stand up guys. Hope AO does not go the way of a lot of boat companies that are under capitalized. Its a great product, I have had two 26's and "almost ordered a 31'. steve will post reply soon. both him and art are having trouble w/scott trying to get company back. he did tell me for sure today that they will make all the issues that scott has caused right and i think that they will. those guys always treeted me very fair and steve did help me a lot with the setup on my 1997 31 ao. runs better now then it ever did! if i here something i will post. ;)

The guys out there with business outstanding need to give the guys time to sort things out, I am sure everything will be sorted out over the next several weeks, the company has a good product, just because Scott is screwing things up doesn't mean the company will go by the wayside.things will work out one way or another

Art has been helping Scott for the last 22 mounths to the tune of over 300k and there is another 600+k that scott has ripped off in the form of deposits, bad checks and outstanding bills!!!!! Do you really think Art can take care of all this?????? If they get the company back tomorrow they will need at least 600,000.00 to put it back to sq.one and they could not make it work then............
I worked years to build the company and watched Art and Steve screw it up and this makes me sick!!!! Art would never listen to me for any reason,but now he is more willing to listen and he does not call me mr. negative any more! I have somewhat of a plan that could put American Offshore on the top of the list for high performance catamarans and put all this BS. behind,but it would not include Art or Steve D. for the next few years.........DO you think Art will listen to this?????????????????

Did he ever send you a pic of your boat with motor in it????? Or a trailer ID#??????? This is what keeps these crooks in business "SUCKERS" the ones who send money without getting anything for it!!!! I have been building boats for 28 years and never took the kind of money Scott took in 2002 I got 20% down and balance on delivery and that's it!!!! Your deal should have been minumn deposit coz Scott told you he had a motor from a 3100 that the customer did not take or something like this,you should look in to this coz I think he was talking about the same boat as he delivered to tiga marine and if so he never intended to deliver you a boat from the get go........... The good news is your boat is alive and well and is lacking seats,outdrive and trailer!!!! Would you like me to shoot you a pic??????????

its crazy its always 20% down to start. thats industry standard. but i do know some builders want 50% down. thats a joke. why do customers feel like they are dealing with the mafia to buy a boat?????????

I bought a 2002 2600 from scott, and had a new motor put in it, and he wanted all the money up front. I have been waiting on my carpet and pad for 6 months and over paid for a replacement outdrive by $1200. He tried to sell me a bravo one xz outdrive and pass it off as a teague xr. He sent me the replacement stickers to put on it, he said teague doesn't put stickers on from the factory. I love my boat , but can't stand it because I think of scott every time I'm in it.

well Ed you are right of course. I was very stupid to really believe I was dealing with an honest guy. I am the 1st to admit I was pretty dumb, niave or whatever. Youd think someone my age would be smarter, so shame on me for having faith in people. Sure I would like a pic Ed. also I have talked to Art about what is needed to finish it. I just hope Art is more truthful then Scott. Hard to believe anyone right now. From my understanding I'm not the only one in this predicerment at the moment, not that it makes it any easier.
Also very hard to understand why Art cant take company back if Scott has defaulted on payments, unless theres some other things we are unaware of.
My attorney will be involved very soon if something doesnt happen. Like this Monday.
Also ed, not laying blame , but I think some of this would have been avoided if some of the folks here had stepped up to the plate and made us aware of some things they knew about.
Every one said what a great guy SCott was to deal with and now I've been told by different sources some of the things that have happened in the near past. I wont name names cuz I was asked not to , but you know who you are.
Again, I take responsibility for my own stupidity, but I think it would be better not to rave about a person, manufacture, company etc, when you know the downside. Just my 02 worth.
I thought this was a board to help each other.

Scott is a petty person,this is why he's were he is today...."OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE BOARD" He will be walking real soon and he will no longer be "Mr American Offshore" lets just hope that Art will find someone who knows how to build boats and this person keeps Art away from the shop,and Steve moves on to being a premer home builder..... In the mean time there is a few people that will be getting "post delivery date boats" but the lesson they learn will make it all worth it...... I will work with art to get the boats out as fast as possible and try to make everything right for all!!!! Were not talking speed when I say "fast as possible" you all ordered wimpy motors ;) ;) ;) ;)

Ordered the wimpy motor for warranty period. Blower motor sitting in garage waiting. Hope to have AO to put it in. I will wait a bit on the attorney, of course now I'm believing another person telling me it will all work out. I've talked to Art and he knows what I need and the time frame for it to happen for me to gain some trust . I'm sure you can understand Ed, how its getting hard to believe all the promises.

enoughf bull s--t I think it's time to install a web cam or something like this so people can see what is happing at AO on line!!!!
I am not in to the computer thing and do not know a lot about this kind of stuff but I am sure shameless knows all about this stuff and there is about 4 other people who would like to take a look at the progress of their boats on a daily basis.......As the landloard I would be more than happy to let it be installed in my building,one in the lam.room,one in assembly and of coarse one in rigging steering at shameless 26 NXS...................
Merlin, I am not aware of any one from KY but I will have my frist 3100 finished sometime next week and this was sold complete less power..I have had two of my best working on it and they have been working 3 weeks now and I told the owners I would have it done in 1 +weeks "sorry Rob" the wood that was put in was the worst I ever seen "bar none"had to grind it all out, the AO crew told me some joker from Canada did the work,not sure if this is the same people that **** head was telling Art he was selling the business to for millions of dollars and kepy Art putting more money in to keep it up till they cashed him out!!!! Any how my people are working today "Sat" and tomorrow if need be but AO is all locked up for the weekend as it allways has been ever since I sold it back in 1999,,,,
Has anyone heard from fastcats????? I am sure he will love to see us install web cam so he can hide and watch at the same time..... And one more note.....when you see the sheriff on a daily basis he is only looking for Scott and has no interest in buying a boat.............................

There are a couple of solutions how much do you want to spend, do you want to put it on the internet? Do you want real time recording? B & W or Color, it all comes down to how much you want to spend. You can spend a 100 or 10,000 on a four camera system.

Wow took me by shock also, I was at the outrigger about 10 weeks ago looking at a 2600 Scott had there, nice boat then went to look at a 3100 at his shop, it was white with yellow and purple cool boat, he had me fooled, I would still think about buying an AO in the future if they get it back together

One thing all you commentors out there need to know Scott contracted to purchase the company from Art & Steve, but never paid anyone one red cent toward the purchase, my understanding he violated just about every term in the contract , and so far he has gotten away with trying to destroy the business they sold, and the Texas courts have not striped Scott of any thing yet to my understanding .I know Fast eddie is trying to help but he needs to stop taking pot shots at the wrong people Art & Steve, take all of the shots you want a the scum bag Scott. Lets help and try to recover from a bad situation there all kinds of thiefs out there and apparently Scott is one of them.

No pot shots,I warned Art of Scott long before he made any deal......And also when I worked with Steve for a week before we "Art ,Steve and myself" closed our deal I told Art I would give him back his option money coz I did not think Steve could run the business!!!!!! Art then spoke to me the next day after this and told me if we did not go through with the deal Steve "his brother" would sue Art for over 150,000 lost in his house building business.........I told Art he was a fool and took his money and said GOOD LUCK...ED

My understanding from some guys I know up here in NJ, the business was in the well in the black but the two could not work as partners. The businesss was run down by Scott and Art was very smart by ltting Scott con him. Do you plan to by the business back or what ?

The business was in the red ever since Art & Steve took it over.
They were both so stupid when it came to Scott They did not even know how much was in the checking account or have an inventory when he stepped in Steve thinks about 30k and Art say's a little less......Scott never paid them a dime for the business in the time he was there and this is just one more thing that Art & Steve did to screw up American Offshore........
I do not want to buy AO I just was trying to help Art,I have one 3100 at my shop now and will be done with it this week and not sure if there will be another!! This mess is messier day by day,I think the boats should be done in the order they were sold,and I am alone on this thought.
Question??? if someone buys a boat in Jan 02,sends 130K and request motors from his builder and you send the money for these motors"out of his 130k of coarse" and then summer is here and no boat so this person tells you he wants his 130k back so you sell these motors to another guy that sends you say about 110k and still no boat and the **** hits the fan, who would you give the motors to??????????
Yes Art & Steve fought all the time....I think they would do good in comedy club business they were so funny I am cracking up now just thinking of them............
