Default Thinking about buying a 3100

My oldest son and I flew to Vegas this past weekend to take a 3100 for a sea trial (Lake Havasu). The boat is a 1996 with a wrap. The price is competitive and it is fast. We got her up to 130mph in water that was like glass. I think the powertrain is good it just needs a lot of cosmetic work. What do you guys think? The owner seems like a solid guy.

Yes it has been for sale for a while. The boat is wrapped. I passed on the deal. It's a cool boat and it is fast. Decided to keep the boat that I have. It's roomy and much less money to maintain I'd imagine.

I have a 2002 Powerquest 340 Vyper with Tall Deck 588s. It will do mid to high 90s. That’s plenty fast enough for me and it has a lot of room. It’s also been a reliable boat for two seasons.

what made you decide that? Or what was not up to what your expectations were, when you decide to fly to see it?
when ready to fly to see a boat, I would be pretty dead set on having it, unless a good disappointment happens...

I made a fun trip out of it with my oldest son. We landed in Vegas on Friday morning, rented a Hertz Shelby Mustang convertible and drove to Lake Mead for lunch, stayed at the Bellagio that evening and drove to Lake Havasu on Saturday morning with the top down. It got down to 28 degrees in one of the canyons The boat is cool but needs work

. I owned an American Offshore 2600 with 850HP a while back and just remembered how much money it costs to maintain. I'll have three kids in college soon and can't piss money into the wind anytime soon.

I’ve seen that boat for sale for some time now on the west coast. How much would you say it’s actually worth with all the work it needs?
