Default How fast is your 26 AO?

I am curious about different 26 ft. engine/drive configurations...

I have a 1996 American Offshore 26 NSX with a 540 built by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering in 2000. The engine is programmed with an innovative PFM Gorilla Performance Package that includes a digital engine management system, dual throttle body EFI, SuperChiller and M3 ProCharger. An IMCO Xtreme Advantage SC outdrive (1:34) has been added to handle the enhanced acceleration and torque. The best that I have seen is 108 MPH on GPS with a 32 pitch Bravo four-blade.

Tell me about your engine/drive package. How fast is your 26?

Thumbs up

ITTLFI has a nice boat and did some major tuning this past winter...I wonder how it turned out?

Anyone else have a fast 26 AO?

The NSX we built for a demo has a lingenfelter 540 with quad rotor-whipples through an intercooler. I run 12 psi boost on 92 octane gasoline. B max outdrive with 1.19 gears. run 30 pitch bravo lab prop. use dominator 1050 CFM carbs. can easily run 120mph at 6000 rpm with 40 gallons of fuel on any day less than 75 F. Rev limiter set at 6000.

Dinick- Did you run the boat about a month or so ago at the Lake Conroe radar run?

Well I have the ao from hell. anyways it was, but is mine now, finally and its not fast but I have the 502/ 415-450 hp, I;m not really sure what the hp is because of the complications of just getting the boat, but it runs 82.7 at 5200rpm with this little stock motor in it with 28 bravo, 150 gears.
I think thats a lot of speed for this little motor, and the boat is coming along. hopefully by next summer everything will be complete, but so far so good. Does anyone maybe have n extra set of nsx or ao stickers for the side?

shameless kitty,

You should not be ashamed with 80+ MPH...that is faster than the overwhelming majority of boats. Welcome to AO club!

To turbo Jack
yes I ran it at the Lake Conroe radar run. Water was a little ruff and difficult to get prop bite. Had to keep throttling it. Best I got was 114 mph but good enough for the fastest boat trophy.
