Saw it in Dania across from american offshore past couple years sitting outside. It caught my eye cause I was at American Offshore marina looking at the 47' octavian apache for sale. It was then still with trips.

$250K would have been a decent price- last year.

Does anyone know the origin/history of the boat?

Ask me in 12 months and I will tell you. The old 47's are too heavy to run good with twins but a new lighter one will rock. NK

I thought that same thing but the numbers do add up. Triple 850's (2,550 total HP) should push a half-cabin pleasure 47 into the low 80's. Twin 1,300's gives you the same power with 1,500#+ less weight. You'd think it would gain some speed. No?

And if you cut 1/3 of the hull weight off you'd be even better off, right Parn?

The 47's are awsome boats, I rode in KEMOSABE, and was blown away at the way they handle big water. The new 47 Sabers will be amazing with trips or twins, layed up like Wicked Won and the new Red 41 will be Big fun.

It's SOOOO tempting to step up from the 41 to the 47. I just know it will double my boating costs. Costs that are grossly non-affordable as-is.

Yep 47's are a whole differnt level of expense's, but they are awsome. I built my shop to fit one but I don't know if I will ever go that route.

I think I'd be better off with a 2nd 41. One pleasure and one 3-pack ex-racer. I can't get the one I have out of the 50's most of the time anyway with either broads or kids on board.
