Re: Looking for a 41 Apache
Are you looking for a pleasure, race, 3-pack, 6-pack, S/S, short or full stagger?
You have to be cautious buying one of these old girls. I've seen stringer separations, delaminated sections on bottoms, rotten transoms , bad fuel tanks and more. There are some exceptionally solid, well-known boats out there for sale- you may be better off buying one of those (price-wise that is) than redoing one from scratch. Especially if you want a top-shelf ride. refitting an old, beaten #3 boat will cost almost as much as a new one from McManus. Search on the user name "el Indio". Mark is talking about selling his 3-pack, full-stagger, race-layup boat. One sweet ride. |
