Did you build your own pre-lube system or did you buy an off the self unit?

Jim

Robert gave me a lead on oil pre-lube systems from Keith Eickert a while back. I just got a pair of the systems for the Apache and was planning to install them this past week, but the weather from Ernesto changed that plan. Like Robert told me, you could build your own system for less money, but there is something nice about buying a complete kit and having everything together in one box.

The Keith Eickert kits come with some nice components and seem to be fairly complete with the fittings, hoses, filters, brackets, valves, etc... If you have a catalog from them, the pre-lube system is pictured on page D8. If you don't have a catalog, their phone number is (386) 446-0660, the web site is www.keith-eickert.com and the part numer is KEP-K70030112.

Thanks again for the info Robert!

Will

I just looked through the Eickert web site, but I did not see their pre-lube system. They had only the Master Lube system on there from what I was able to find. I don't know why their system is in the catalog, but not on the web site. Anyhow, here are two pictures of the system I got from them with the part number mentioned above. This is what comes in the box for each pre-lube system.

OK, now to get back on the topic of this thread. Warhawk is a bad a$$ boat! Though I have not seen it in person, the pictures of it are incredible and I am sure that they don't even do it justice. How about posting some pics here so that we can drool over it! :D

Thanks for the info Wil. I am actually putting my own together because my pans were already plumbed for an oil change system. I am running the same Aeromotive pump. All I have to do is hook up the pump and plumb the return/pressure side. Does the Eikert kit include a filter as well as a check valve to isolate the pump when the engine is running?

The Eickert kit does have a filter and a check valve to prevent oil from flowing the wrong way. They also include a quick disconnect fitting for the hose leading out of the pump going back to the engine. This will allow us to disconnect that hose and connect a long hose going out of the boat so we can use the pump to change the engine oil. It is a nice setup. Like the other stuff though, there isn't any reason why you can't get the fitting and do it yourself.
