Poor Jay's gonna be up to his eyeballs in parts believe me! My motors were running perfect, just had some hard hours on 'em. I pulled them out in the fall and tore them down for inspection and guess what...
they needed everything
It's the game we play
my wife thinks I hate money and must throw it away
But after close to 30 yrs of playing with fast boats, nothing gets me going more than a good romp in the rough stuff!

yeah me over revving the thing when it started to load up
When that red needle goes into the red and reads 7000 THATS BAD
I need to put rev limiters on these things and this wont happen again.
Has the MSD I think its just a chip you slip in the thing to limit it if I remember correctly.
And yeah those are just shadows you see in that pic.
Lucky, Yeah I think you are right, Time to just haul it down to Herb and let him have at it.

Whoever did that, is just a plain IDIOT !!! But, they should've told you when you bought the boat. If you would've known that, you'd be boating now instead of typing about your broken engine.
The next time it "loads up", instead of revving the engine, shut it off and find the reason. More than likely, it'll be in the carburation.

Jay, why in the hell would you even think about running it without rev-limiters. That's something that the seller should've told you in the first place that the engines don't have rev-limiters. You would just assume that any marine engine built by anyone that was not some backyard mechanic would install limiters in the ignition.

These shifters are out of a 1989 41 Apache, anyone have the cable ends or have any ideas on how I can fab up something that will work with this type of socket so I can thread the cable into the throttle/shifters?
