I agree. We have the only 45, but Warpath is a true collector's item! I also agree about the financing, but this guy needed only 20K. This was after I gave him a substantially reduced price. I also had another person that said I would have a deposit "by the end of the week." I never heard from him again. If there is one thing that I have learned over the years about selling boats, it is that you cannot believe anybody until the money is in your hand.

I started all of this just to see where the true market value was on the boat. I wanted to see what kind of offers I would get. I am still not sure about the value, but it looks like I should go ahead and keep the boat and make the changes to it. I thought about buying a second performance boat that has what we want and keeping the Apache as is, but I already own 4 boats. Two are fishing boats and one is a hunting boat, so I need another boat like a hole in the head. Especially another performance boat. I had this Apache and a Gladiator at the same time and the upkeep was a pain in the a$$. That is a lot of cleaning and detailing! Anyhow, I am gonna let it ride for the last few days of the ad to see what happens.

I got a call today from somebody that wants to know if I am interested in selling the boat without engines because they want to use their own. What is the market like right now for engines? If I consider this am I going to be stuck with a pair of engines sitting in the garage? I imagine that they would be tough to sell. Any ideas?

Will, I think it would be very difficult to get your money back out of those engines. Built engines that cannot be test run are a tough sell. I would keep it together, the boat is almost perfect in setup right now.

I can't tell you how many calls I've had where they're coming to see the boat next weekend, want to put a deposit it on it the next day, I'll call back tomorrow, etc...lots of tire kickers and a lot of BS'ers !!

No,I did not say used Chief engines are worth $10,000
I said used engines are worth $10,000 as if you were to trade in or sell on the open market

Chief engines are in a league all there own-best on the market

Fine, but you still can't buy a decent used engine for $10k.
maybe a 496mag ho, and that don't count. sorry for sidetracking... i'm done.
and imo, you're better off selling w/ power.

It looks like the engines will be staying with the boat.
