Jerry,
That's cool,........I was just going off memory in an email you and I shared during the build of your boat. I had stated to you how sharpe red should look and that I didn't ever remember ever seeing a red Apache. And you brought to my attension MeanStreak. So perhaps it's my fault assuming it was your inspiration. Sorry about that MM................ Jon |

Pete your boat was one of my favorites, I remember when you guys left the dock late but still won the race in Key West........ Go FAST!!!
I remember MM arrived after the race (1991 Worlds Final) had ended, and didn't know the results. When I told him in the wet pits, he didn't believe me. We started about a half mile behind everyone else, because we had steering problems and OPT refused to delay the start for us. But it was 3-4's on the outside, and we were first to the first mark and never looked back. We were so green that when we never saw another boat ahead of us, we figured that we must be off course and hopelessly lost. Remember the days whe "offshore" actually raced offshore, and you had to (gulp) navagate. Without GPS! We couldn't have made the race were it not for Bob Latham. He busted his butt to fix our steering problem (an Everglades FU), and then refused payment for his work. A class guy if there ever was one.:D And Kathy's not too bad, either! :evilb: |

Hey Jon ...
Actually , the idea to go with red came from 1. FatBoy (38T/G) and 2. the fact that my lagoon get so ****ty in the summer that all my white bottomed boats get stained on the running surface after a couple weeks of use .... BTW After 3000 posts you can't be called new anymore. NK |
