29k? Buy it! Thats a great price for a 28. Even if you have to do a little work. Well worth the $! I put alot of $ in mine, never got it back but the ride was worth it.

The tank is aluminum correct?

Is there a way to test them while still in the boat?
block off the vent, the fill and the pick-up and pressure test @ 10-15 lbs air pressure...let it sit for 15 minutes and re-check to see if the pressure dropped.

Or....do the sniff test...

How do we know the engines have to be rebuilt? Has the owner said they do, and/or how many hours?

I sold my scarab with 502/500's with about 450 hrs on them and I believe they're still running.....solid lifter cam....

Thats more than reasonable, no wonder you were so hot to trot For 28'ish you could get close to your money back. I figure mint with solid power their worth atleast $40K

CFD5 - hey Tim, thanks for putting all that money into her.

If you think the old ones are expensive....call up McManus and have him build you a new one....just have the bottle of ky lube ready before making the call....

What happened to the 28 on ebay? Yesterday it was up to 25k and now is back down to 17k> Did someone go look at it and retract their bid?
