Spirit of Apache 4 Sale...

Went to the St. Pete boat show this weekend. Not much for high performance boating. More of your Fishing boats and Yachts.

They where handing out DuPont Registry for Boats. Was flipping through it and found a full page add for Spirit of Apache. Included in the sale is a custom F-650.. Asking price for package... $1.5m.

I figure that is not to bad for what he has into it. I didn't think it would be for sale but I guess everything has a price.

To bad we don't have Powerball Lottery in FL...

Queenie 12-03-2007 09:36 AM

This boat is something......$1.5M.....wow wee!

I had heard right after it was finished it was available for 2m.

It is the sickest 47' built, but thats a lotttt of jingle.

A million five opens up alot of options, boating-wise.

It's like a giant custom home. If you've got the scratch, why settle for someone else's vision? For that kind of dough, a guy could have it entirely his way.

I would be the guy looking for 3 awesome boats for 1.5 million. With 3 you would hope atleast one would run when you wanted to go out! :D

I have seen the boat in person as well as seeing the build video on TV and it is an awesome boat. The only thing that is a bit out of place is the bimini top. I can appreciate the shade after living in FL for 20+ years but on that boat it looks funny.

Chris Sunkin 12-04-2007 08:02 AM

I think that million-five would buy both of Gino's cats.

DirtyMoney 12-04-2007 08:16 AM

And have a pile of money to spare!

From what I know the boat sold a while ago, it is an amazing example of Mark's work.

I'd struggle through the disappointment somehow.

Chris Sunkin 12-04-2007 03:35 PM

Myself, I liked it better before they painted it. Less is more.

Queenie 12-04-2007 03:38 PM

Ditto Chris. While the new scheme is wow and wee, you can't beat the original scheme.

On the other hand, with everything they did to this boat, it's not like it's old any longer. :(

Nykamp 12-04-2007 03:54 PM

Chris, that was the second paint job, it looked great the first time also, round 3 is also very nice. One of the first owner used to keep her in St. Tropez, along with his 2 41's.

Now when I see a powerboat of the magnitude of Spirit off Apache, loaded with custom touches, not to mention the drivetrain! I say "That's awesome...How Much?" The answer of course is 1.5 million. That's where I run out of gas, because I am not financially in that bracket. If I was I certainly would give it a hard look. If I got a ride in it, I would buy it. If there is plenty of ink in your pen, write a check!

Yeah, but you guys still have the possibility of boating yet, yes? It can get warm on a dime down there.

Here, warm in Dec through Feb is maybe 50....heatwave for us!

It was 29 last night and 66 today. Talk about a swing. It will be back into the low 30's again tonight.

A/C - Heat - A/C to heat. HVAC never takes a break.

Oh well it could be snowing.

This is where my huband will have to step in and fight you for it....but you're welcome anytime to come up to Lake Erie in the summer and go for a ride. Promise you won't be disappointed.

Cool. See you guys in the summer probably. Plan on putting some miles on the truck and trailer next season if work stays slow. Granted that I actually keep one of these boats.

I hope that's something we can do in the future is trailer and visit other places. Personally I want a hauler (similar to what they pull Lucky 7's with) to pull the boat, not just a truck.

You have an Apache though. Not many can say that. :Score-101010:

I have a buddy who just bought an International 4400-based ambulance off of Ebay. Got it cheap and you know being an ambulance it was over-maintained. It's now painted all white and he gutted the inside. Plan is to put some seats and a TV in the back and re-do the driver's compartment. It'll make one hell of a nice tow vehicle for a fraction of a toter.

The thing is full of storage compartments.

You don't need 80 grand- just some ingenuity.
