How much can you expect to pay for a survey?

In any case I got a great deal on a great boat. I heard the weight of the 1988 model was around 9,000 lbs?? and that was from Bob S.
Weight is 7000lbs dry

Bigboat28 - I paid $560 for the survey, but I got it back in the price and most sellers will knock off the $500 after the survey..........there is always something.

For power I was thinking of throwing in some 400hp small blocks, or maybe that 550hp aluminum 454 raylar was talking about. 1000lbs off the back end is a lot. BUT thats a long ways away.

There's a ;ot of 38 and 42 running xr with 600 hp and getting by.

I'm looking at upgrading to the xr's right now, and definitely don't want any problems -- but don't think the konrads or ace are going to be the answer. I hope I'm not too wrong
I do agree that the Konrads arent required. I mentioned that because if he goes with really big power & go all out, it is a good way to go.. Otherwise the Xr's if not abused should be fine.. There are other longer boats that weigh more that run them fine.. There is something to be said for the drivers as well.. Jamie / Lakeside

Standard Bravos on a boat of that weight are going to be intolerant of hard starts and throttle mistakes when leaving/re-entering the water with anything over 450-500 hp. 600's will make the boat sing. 750's would make it haul a$$.
I agree w/ Chris..

This is one of the reasons I mentioned the Konrads.. But if he is not an overly agressive driver & ie easy on the sticks in those situations he will probably be ok.. Jamie

Good idea & the weight of 9k lbs sounds a little high, but 7 does seem to low.. Is it possible 7k was the displacement? & actual weight is about 8-8500 lbs?? I could be wrong as it was a while ago already, but I think the 33 Warrior we did weighed in the mid 9's before we did the Konrads.. It had Trs's w/blown 509's.. Either way I would say Bobby's weight estimate is probabbly pretty close.. And He should know.. Jamie
