I don't like the windshield either, but what is the deal with unlimited powerboats apache? I am sure there are hundreds of threads on this, but why is it unlimited powerboats and not just apache?

I personally don't care for the windshield either, messes up the lines, but each to their own. When I get smacked in the face by a wasp, then maybe I'll change my mind. Its unlimited powerboats because its NOT an apache. It was not made by the apache company or B Saccenti or McManus. Pretty sure Eric Froberg built the Unlimited brand. I believe its a lighter layup. Can't really comment on the quality of the boats because I've never seen one. Didn't Froberg work for Apache?

They are not as slow as you might think. I get upper 70's with twin 460hp. 80 with twin stock 502's.........maybe of the 500hp variety is more than reasonable. The newer apaches dropped 500-1000lbs.

Sick Stinger 06-05-2008 09:04 AM

really didnt know that thought they were heavier dont get me wrong great boat just thought it took more hp to get it going

They do take HP to get them going, I know that with over 500 hp they will run in the 80's, but they will still not jump out of the water!!

Uhhhhhhhhh huh..........and how many times have you had yours out Bill???????

I've got no problems jumping up on plane.........in that respect its not much different than other similar 28's.......with the exception of AT in which case I will smoke most any 28AT off the line because the 28AT is not big enough for a pair of big blocks:hitfan:. It will jump, but needs atleast 4-5ft of wave....maybe more.

LOL.......oh yah, and a 28 twin engine gets better gas mileage than a 28 single as long as your not too heavy on the sticks.
