Apache for sale in Miami on OSO

Does anyone have any information on the 28 Brave that is for sale in the classified section? I am interested in a "small" project boat, but it would need to be able to run while in the process of being redone. I have wanted an Apache for a little while, and think this might be a fairly inexpensive way to get into one and fix it up a bit...

any and all input is welcome.

Thanks guys!
Chris

if I'm not mistaken I believe this thread is regarding that boat;
http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/a...bulkheads.html
I called on it (I guess i'm an apache groupie or something). from the pics it looks like it needs some work

fund razor 11-23-2008 07:10 AM

Are we talking about the one at Xtreme in Miami with the add on OSO that has no price?

cosmic12 11-23-2008 07:53 AM

Oh man not another one:eek:

Thanks, I have emailed about it, but have not heard anything. If it has termites though, I do not think I want ot be involved in that! :-)

WMF 11-24-2008 06:51 PM

29,000 is way too much for that boat in this market or in any market, you will need to put so much money into it to make it right, its not worth it, at 5-8k it might be a buy!!!!!

You are in florida.... you could go see. Then you would know.
I haven't seen it. I just started keeping track of the 28s recently.

bigboat28 11-25-2008 07:08 AM

WMF has seen it.

WMF 11-25-2008 08:20 AM

Big Boat, I have never seen that Apache 28 in person!!!, I can just tell by the limited # of pics that boat needs major work!!!, Im no expert, but I do have alot of 28 Apache experence!!!

bigboat28 11-25-2008 08:41 AM

Oh my fault I took it as you had seen it sorry

!

WTF? In the bulkhead thread you said you looked at that boat in person. Now you said you didn't look at it. You have some very strong comments regarding that boat, despite the fact you've never seen it:eek::eek: Come to think of it you have nothing but negative things to say about every other 28 apache since you got yours shined up, including mine. Just how much experience do you have with 28 apaches when you paid someone to do all the fiberglass work and sold it after it broke down on the first two runs?

Look guys - if you like the boat - go look at it. If your too far away see if an OSO member will stop by and take a look. If you have questions regarding the construction of the 28 and common problems talk to Bob Saccenti, or Eric Froberg. Both are very accessible. Take these forums with a grain of salt.

I went into mine doing the exact same thing. Hoping it would be a "small project" and hoping it would last while I did the work. I did expect to pay for new engines, I just didn't expect it to happen so soon. The few trips I did get to make was the time of my life and I've been boating since I could walk. I remember one rough day when there was little to no one on the water we parked in a cove by a brand new 08 47ft fountain. When they left all 8 guys had their gaping eyes set on my little 28. Over the course of the summer I had numerous boats chase me down from skaters to brand new cigs. Of course they smoked me - but the boat got the attention it deserves.

I'd do it all over again if I had the choice, but I also have a second boat. For me, I could spend $100K on this boat and it would be worth every penny.

WMF 11-25-2008 10:42 AM

Hey Andy I never said I went and looked at the boat, were did I say I saw it in person???? The pics tell enuff, if it looks bad in pics, then it will look worse in person, I dont dislike any 28 Apache, even yours, WTF is your problem????? You are a total ass looking for a fight???? I think I know alittle more about 28 Apaches then you do, trust me!!!, you dont want to get in a pissing match!!!!

Nancy tries to be nice as he can now that he is the house boy of OSO, but he can't help himself. He craves attention.

Since Nancy wants to keep Bill honest and everything:

If Nancy could spend 100k on that boat he would have engines.

He says that they have been pulled, but we doubt it highly. They are in the bilge where Nancy left them. Pooched.

The second boat the he mentions... is that the sea ray that he said on a different thread belongs to his folks?

:food-smiley-007:

TexomaPowerboater 11-25-2008 11:32 AM

Again you guys avoid the topic by belittling me and my boat. I guess I need to go take a pic of my engine bay

Lets stick to the facts cupcake - you don't know any more about that boat than the guy who was asking about it.

When you click on that link, be sure to read the post from Big boat just above it. The one that Bill responded to...

Bigboat:
"Has anybody looked at the 28 in the classifieds at Extreme Marine?"

One can easily see that what Bill meant is that he had seen the 28 literally... in the classifieds. He should have been more clear about seeing pics, rather than being vague like that. But I knew what he meant, and I knew that he hadn't gone down there to see it.
Bill has never BSd anybody... and this comes from someone on the buying end of one of his deals. I am not going to sit back and let Nancy take posts out of context just to play "catch you if I can."

ar15meister 11-25-2008 12:09 PM

Fund is right. Bill didnt explicitly say 'in person'. He just said he looked at the boat in the classifieds.

WMF 11-25-2008 12:12 PM

Just keep talking yourself into a hole Andy, I really dont understand your logic, or understanding, I am a upfront honest guy, I posted right after Big boat said WMF saw the boat, I right away said I never said I saw the boat!!!!, I was not trying to B.S. anyone about that boat.

If Tex would have left this post as the end of the subject, this thread would not have been hijacked like it was.

WMF 11-25-2008 12:29 PM

No Andy cant do that, he has to put up something negative or argumentative to every post on this site!!!!!. I think Andy might have some buyer remorse about buying his boat and having it blow up on him, after he spent a ton on a great survey!!!, I sold my Apache, I did not want to finish it, John has it now, he loves it, I lost the drive after the motors went, I have nothing aginst 28 Apaches, I just dont want someone else to go thru what I did, older boats need work, lots of work, people think they can get into the sport cheaply by picking up a older boat at a low price, but most dont understand what cost it will take to make the boat right and safe. It seems like everyday he comes on here to piss off someone else, find something better to do with your time Andy, like fixing your boat!!!!!!, most of the members on this site could care less about you and what you think.

I agree.

In that thread the guy asked has anybody seen the boat (post #5).........WMF said he did (post #6). I don't thinking he meant did you look at the classified add - hell anybody can do that. Go ahead and dick around with the english language if you want. I know how to read. I wasn't the only one that took it that way. Hope the owner doesn't need the money anytime soon. Heavan forbide you take food off of someones table in a lame attempt to pretend like you know something about the boat.

I don't think that's what he meant either, but I do think that is what Bill thought. Not exactly a war crime here.

It was ambigous. Different people took it different ways. Only you needed to start a huge freaking deal over it.

I assume that you are not talking to me with that one, Nancy.... because my involvement prior to you needing some attention was to ask which boat it was. Period. The food off of people's table reminds me of the comment that you made about how bankruptcies are great and are helping your business.
Should we provide a link to that? Or can we stop hijacking this guys thread now?

Well you did, and you did the same thing when you said bulkhead problems are common despite the fact that you didn't have bulkhead problems and you didn't hear of anyone else who has had bulkhead problems. This isn't a personal attack on you, just your comments that are blatantly false,

LOL, dude you don't know anything about bankruptcy. You think I put people into bankruptcy??? They get themselves into bankruptcy - I help them through it and try to reduce claims - translation - putting a little more food back on the table. You want to keep avoiding the topic by spreading false rumors and making personal insults? Pretty easy to see why you would try to help WMF try to explain himself.

Sorry for the hijack.

fund razor 11-25-2008 01:21 PM

So Bill... did you happen to see any pics to know if it is one of the 28s that sat in the water too long and has a crusty butt?
I have heard that there are a couple of ragamuffins out there with rattle can spray paint drives, old interiors, black dashes, etc.

The one in Miami isn't THAT bad is it?

Fact: Nancy celebrated them as a revenue producer in a thread earlier this fall and was quite quickly called on it.

WMF 11-25-2008 02:28 PM

Hey Andy he was not worried about putting foood on my table when he hijacked my thread when I was thinking of selling my boat, and dont read too much into the fast that he hijacked my thread to sell his boat Andy, If the boat looked good I would support it, and tell others to buy it. Andy worry about your Apache and get it done and stop the OSO restoration bull s#$#, find some money and get it done, dont hate on me because I have money to have other do work for me that I can do!!!!

Bankruptcy is a good thing. A lot of businesses are allowed to survive because of it. If it weren't for bankruptcy a couple of boat manufacturers would not still be in businesss. Its the equivalent of a fresh start. Often times we are the only ones that bring comfort to somone going through one of the worse times of their life. Yes it is a revenue producer for me and I'm proud of it. I hope you don't ever find yourself in a mess like that, but if you do I'd be happy to help :)

I thought we were going to stop hijacking this thread?
