apache scout ?s
Friend lookin into buying one. I guess century bought the molds or rights to build the scouts in the mid 90s?
Are these later models as good of quality?well built, same layup schedule?
Will it effect sales pricing if they are apache by century with the different hin #?
Any info helpful.
Thx, md

Ok so this is what I've got off s&f
Apache gave century the rights to build the scout in 95. The hin # the went from APH to whatever century uses....CNT?
For the first 8 months of the apache by century the boats were built under bob s guidance & schedule.
The boat I'm going to look at was one of the first apache by century built in the first month of the transition so I'm hoping it will be up to standards.....
Also friend spoke with century boats. I guess Yamaha bought all the info and name rights off century from 95-09 century has no rights or records????
Sounds odd to me. They don't own the molds, just build info & names for whatever reason????????????
Anybody have any more info to chime in on?
Thx

Latest news.
Friend got a hold of bob saccetti.( thanks Jim)
After 95 molds were sold to century and century could name the boat apache scout. They would need to kick back royalties for name.
They were not built the same as pre 95. Different lay ups....
Still very good builds. Century had a man named don that previously worked @ fountain overseeing / involved with the builds of all scouts only. almost like a different division of century.....like a welcraft / scarab type deal
. Yamaha stepped in at some point....century/ yami no longer build or own the molds.

I guess bob was very humble & pleasant....esp for some random stranger calling.
They spoke for a half hr about past, present, & future.
Bob gave him an email address & told him if he buys it to stay in touch. He was curios to see how the thing holds up with the 300 bolted to it!!!!
