Interesting to see if it sells. wonder what the reserve is? i see in the listing they put trannys in it and took out the crash boxes. might make it a little more appealing to some potential buyers

Orthobam 01-20-2014 08:05 PM

is it no reserve?

TURBO JET 01-20-2014 08:08 PM

Mecum usually has a reserve

Orthobam 01-20-2014 08:19 PM

Is it for sale somewhere? It's not in OSO classifieds.

88bullet 01-20-2014 08:24 PM

Ive seen it listed for 399k on yachtworld

Orthobam 01-20-2014 08:59 PM

So the reserve must be $389k lol

Pass the crack pipe. $400k buy a lot of boat right now. Just sayin.

88bullet 01-20-2014 09:04 PM

Anyone got any pics of what the boat looked like before it got redone.

TURBO JET 01-20-2014 09:12 PM

I know it cost a lot to rebuild these boats or any boat, but he claims he put over a million into it. Does any body have the breakdown.

So did mine (that is cost a lot to make right). I realize that every penny I put in the engines, interior, garmin, stereo, paint, props…….all gone. Doesn't make it worth a penny more. If you aren't keeping it then plan on donating it.

Cash Bar 01-20-2014 09:20 PM

I've seen it in person. That 47, and TONTO, may be the only Apaches I've ever found remotely interesting.

I could see it. It adds up fast. This boat is awesome. There's a video of it on YouTube i remember watching.

Boat is hands down the best Apache out there. I saw it in Sarasota when it first was finished and it is a show stopper!

2 issues ring in my head:

1. The choice to build his own motors seemed odd. A drag racer may not be the ideal person to build boat motors.
2. Low usage, 58 hours in 5-6 years? That brings me back to question 1!

Bad Ass TA WS6 01-21-2014 07:15 AM

Is it still Elias'?? I read on here he sold it years ago. But I also saw someone post the boat was close by to them and was still his. I think the boat is in a league of its own, there isn't anything like it that rivals IMO. Wonder who will end up with it if it sells, and what its future holds? Be great to see someone run it more often, but would hate to hear it sits in a warehouse.

Tonto 01-21-2014 12:46 PM

Cash, Thanx!!
For another pik, go in the "Photos" section, look in the "History of Apache" and on page 7, bottom rite, is the way the boat looked when I first saw it.

same here, I think it may be my all time favorite paint job along with the 47 Warparty. I'm kinda torn though because the new graphic is pretty sick and the boat itself is at the very top of my wish list. they did a great job with the rebuild and it has some well thought out touches. shame they had to use that boat but who knows maybe she was showing her age.

This boat is my screen saver much better full size. This would be the paint on my 41' if I was going to spend the $$$$$.$$.

Nykamp 01-24-2014 08:07 PM

It's original paint job was nice 2. This is the third I believe. It's an great boat Mark did a really nice job on its restoration, it need a full redo.

Thanks for the update. I agree with Ortho.........plan on keeping them. $

Jupiter Sunsation 01-27-2014 07:16 AM

The boat is AWESOME, best Apache out there at any price but this boat is a commitment to use. It isn't a "take it out on a whim" type machine like a smaller/twin engine boat. This would be one of those boats that you probably need an hour of "pre-launch" time to knock out a punchlist, then run it for a few hours and 2 hours of cleanup/flush time after your done. This also would be a tough boat to launch solo especially at a busy ramp.

I suspect the NT 50 turbine boats would be the same commitment and those canopy 47-51-52 OL's as well.

Agreed. My 46 cig is basically the same way. What you described is pretty accurate. It's a hassle to use, but once you're away from the docks it makes it all worthwhile.

I would have a hard time paying $300k for a straight bottom offshore, regardless of the brand name or history... although this one would be one bad-azz ride to own, even if it only got used a few times a year.

Comanche3Six 01-27-2014 02:16 PM

Just thinking about that offered amount, 300k........ouch

Rick G 01-27-2014 04:23 PM

High bid was $ 300,000 but no sale .

Sadly the guy has 2 or 3 times that in the boat/build but not sure any Apache has sold in that price range in the last 10 years!

Medicine Man was under 125K and I think Broken Arrow was 190K? (both nice 47's though not nearly as this boat).

Add to the sale price the reconditioning price for Broken Arrow. That is a tidy amount of spare change. For those with a lot of ink in their pen, it's just writing a check. Love those 47's and glad someone can afford them.

I liked BA the way it was, Chief power is always the top choice! :D

I had a multiple Apache owner tell me he has seen 47's "turn a rich man into a poor man!"

There was a video of BA with Tommy (Chief Engines) aboard blasting though some nice size water. Not available anymore, like to view it again. Those Chief turbo engines were smooth.

Paul Reddish 01-27-2014 08:44 PM

250 less power is the deal.

Orthobam 01-27-2014 08:46 PM

If he got a $300 offer and didn't take it well…….

Nykamp 01-28-2014 03:03 PM

It has some awesome detailed work done by Apache Carl's shop. Swim platform and a bunch of other items.

Rick G 01-28-2014 03:34 PM

I read in one of the power boat mags, ( Extreme Powerboat) and I think I still have the issue, he spent well over 1.2 mil getting the boat in the condition it is in now .
