2000 T/S warrior ReRig

So it seems I love to work. Im going to rerig the Apache again, now with a set of SSM 5 drives and MRD 850 540 motors. Boat should go pretty good with this set up. Going to start in another moth. The warrior is already derigged and will be doing the bilge over in bright white taking care of any crappy wiring cable placement ect. We plan on running them level with the bottom of the boat. I will keep pictures of the progress and ect. that goes along with it.

What props did you get with your package?

302Sport 01-15-2015 04:32 PM

Go 2" above and you can always space down. Level with bottom is too low on a stepped boat.

14 apache 01-15-2015 04:40 PM

If it was me I would go 2" above on boxes with 5-blade props. Is it a notched transom? My 41 is 2" above bottom with a notch and #6s 5-blade props

Unlimited jd 01-15-2015 04:59 PM

That's if he feels like spending 5k on props. 4 blades aren't going to work that high. Why wouldn't you go a little deeper on a stepped boat? The water is aerated at the surface? And no notch on this hull.

302Sport 01-15-2015 05:08 PM

Because the stepped boats run flat and don't require the same amount of trim as a straight bottom boat, therefore you can go higher without fear of having to over trim and have the props start slipping.

Most of the stepped boats run the fastest with the trim at neutral because the boat carries itself better. All of the straight bottom boats I've been on need to be trimmed to the moon to get the best speed.

Rig it at 2" above and if it doesn't work or he can't find the right props, just space it down 2". Don't forget you can never go up, but you can always space it down.

Unlimited jd 01-15-2015 05:17 PM

Fair enough. Still don't think I'd go that high. Maybe 1". A 6 drive prop is back further than a 5 on a box I think.
These don't behave like normal stepped boats also.

302Sport 01-15-2015 05:21 PM

5 on a 12" box is the exact same setback as a #6 on the transom.

Yes sir that's why id use the boxes. But the one thing a 6 will do trimmed all the way in is go deeper + cavitation plate is huge. My boat with 4 blade props planed good.

I was gonna say, that thing had nice hardware.

Sick Stinger 01-15-2015 11:35 PM

Not doing boxes just a swap out from the cougar to the Apache and run the snot out of it. Stick with the setup as it sits 4 blades no boxes

88bullet 01-16-2015 06:49 AM

Its worth more with bravos

Sick Stinger 01-16-2015 08:09 AM

No it's not

88bullet 01-16-2015 10:53 AM

just busting your balls. should run like a scalded dog. good luck with the build!! will it be the only 36 with speedmasters?

There is a few with #6

CIG3 01-16-2015 12:49 PM

No stepped ones that I know of.

Sick Stinger 01-16-2015 02:00 PM

Only stepped with SSM I know a few straights have them. The purple with yellow interior had SSM III on it

Panther 01-28-2015 03:04 PM

My 36' and none of the 36's, to my knowledge, have notches. I say go higher as well but without a notch you might be limited how high you can go unless you add boxes. Bobby's not a big fan of boxes on his boats. May wanna give him a call.

Panther 01-28-2015 03:06 PM

There were a bunch of straight bottoms with SSM 3's and 6's. Some were side-by-side, a few short stagger and a small percentage full-stagger. Also, Bobby and Pompi got the X setup really well on the new Warpath with Illmor's and your bottom so they may be able to tell you where to put the drives.

Panther 01-28-2015 03:10 PM

Also, although I have a flat bottom and Bmax drives, my 36' responded really well when I raised my X up 2". The X was really low back then.

Sick Stinger 02-04-2015 11:36 AM

I will have the hardware here in a coupe weeks. My boat is already derigged so the process is well on the way

Nickotine 02-05-2015 10:31 AM

Mike I can't wait to follow the re-rig and see it this summer. It MOVED with the old power, so 850s is gonna rip. Good luck man

SS930 02-05-2015 01:23 PM

I agree, I'm guessing it will run 106-108 or so with true 850's... That's moving in a vee!

Sick Stinger 02-05-2015 05:52 PM

We meaning scot and jerry are going to see if we can turn it a bit more we are looking for 111 mph

Panther 02-11-2015 11:36 AM

Good luck. Looking forward to seeing it run!

Sick Stinger 02-12-2015 09:28 AM

Same here frank

bulletbob 02-12-2015 08:02 PM

Congrats on the new hardware Mike. I look forward to seeing the rigging process and results. 100+ mph in that beast should be breathtaking!

Mad Mac 02-18-2015 01:19 PM

mike you should bust 110 with that power and 5s....but it will most likely be on the ragged edge.

Sick Stinger 02-18-2015 07:40 PM

All my b1tches are always on the rag edge that's why they are temper entail and pissy. Mac when I'm don't this might be the Apache for you.

Bad Ass TA WS6 02-18-2015 10:14 PM

Sick Stinger 02-23-2015 07:11 PM

Sick Stinger 02-25-2015 06:21 AM

Project over motors are bad.

Unlimited jd 02-25-2015 06:46 AM

SS930 02-25-2015 07:36 AM

Unlimited jd 02-25-2015 07:50 AM

bulletbob 02-26-2015 07:08 PM
