Prop Slip on a 36
What kind of prop slip numbers can I expect on my 36...
I'm seeing what I believe to be an insane amount of slip 28 pitch bravo 1 4 blade props reworked to 29's spinning 4100 RPM = 60 MPH = 20% slip 32 pitch bravo 1 4 blade props spinning 4000 RPM = 60 MPH = 26% slip Will adding some cup to these get the slip down? I don't have any WOT numbers... I did make one short run to 5000 RPM with 29's and was right at 70 MPR or 24% Slip What are you guys seeing as far as slip on your 36's? Thanks |
Are these props all reworked? One more question if you put + trim in it will the motors run away? Have you ever had new propellers on the boat?
|
Yes I believe both sets to be reworked. I have not had new out of the box props on the boat...
I can trim pretty high before they blow out it thats what you mean.. As I trim up RPM gradually rises and speed increases.. Max speed at 4000 RPM, is at around 3.5 on the drive indicators. |
How about a little two sided tape on the leading edge of the prop , you never know might work .
Cheers RG . |

No just having some fun . I have the same issue propping my flat deck cig. Don't know wether to reduce diameter or move up in pitch , it's an art not a science . RG.

You need to try props that aren't reworked till than you wont know.

I am running about 18% slip with my 36'. My props were labded by BBlades. Make sure your RPM and speed are accurate before you run your slip calculation.

I know these boats are heavy and not so efficient, but even 18% seems high. Wonder if that's the norm?? Anyone else? |
If you have "reworked" props you really don't know what you've got. Try some props that haven't been "reworked" to come up with some more accurate numbers.
