Apache props
Hi need some help here with the right props ..41 Apache 1987 full cabin,ssm3 standard set up,twin Bandit 510 cubic and 690 hp N/A..max 5800-6000 rpm..Im putting everything together ,what size props 16.5 x 25 four blade ?
Thanks |
First off with SSM3 at a standard height you really will not gain anything with a 4 blade prop. If the "X" dimension is raised close to or at the surface then the 4 blade will help. I would try a 16.5-17"x28" 3 blade.
I'd get ahold of Brett at BBlades for a good idea of what to look for Phone: 920-295-4435 |
I think a 28 is little to much for you. Boats heavy. I have #3 props in the swap 3 blade 16x28 will let go cheap they are short hub props. They may not be rite for you but may be something to give you an idea. And would work for a spare set.

16x25 or 16x26 4 blade would be my guess.

I have a brand new set of Merc Racing 3-blades still in box, they are big shaft though, 26 spline. 17.25 x 27 x 18 degree rake.

Buddy runs the 3 blade on his #41 and has had good luck with them. Not sure of the actual size though.
