Need all pics of Little Caesar’s please.
I have a few but would like as many as possible. Anyone have some good pics of it?
|
No one has some good pics of LC? Looking for detailed pics of the paint specifically. Gotta get it right when it goes back together. ;)
|
Tank,
Check with Steve Nykamp. He may know the original owner, Pete Markey. Andy |
|
Yep. That’s the one. Looking for good pics of the paint. Any pics that aren’t available via a Google search that someone may have saved.

Tank, did you buy the old race boat LC?

Pizza Pizza!
OPT San Francisco brochure April 7 1990 Dockside Where is she? :) Not sure if these help...Lane https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...71034f6b80.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...d950703b04.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...76a55ce2bb.jpg |

Not a picture of the boat, but still a cool newspaper photo. Reach out to Tres Martin. He was a member here and maybe he still is. He may have some pictures that he can share.

thanks for the pics guys. If anyone finds any other rare but detailed photos, please post. Dave asked me to find whatever I can so he can get the paint exact. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1b7bd42b6.jpeg |
What years did it race? Might help me find something in my old magazines.
|
88/89/90 at least I believe.
|
I thought it might be "up here"...but didn't see it on the website...
Paul Kemiel who shot the brochure above is still around...and apparently has photo presence on facebook... https://www.paulkemielphotographics.com/ |
It is awesome to see new life brought back to these older race boats. It takes a lot of dedication and money but in the end it is great to see the boats that made this sport great. Keep us up to date with photos when possible.
|
By the way. If anyone has good pics of Lucky Strike, he’d like those too.
thanks. |
Mine are here https://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/...-key-west.html
courtesy of photo bucket...at least I can see them..if you can't I can re-post or email them. LS was a few slips down from Little Caesars- it was quite a day for me...D Johnson, H Arneson and even Caitlyn Jenner was there- she was especially polite as she dressed as a man that day... If I had 5 Apaches would you be my buddy too? ;) |

Keep pictures of his progress, so cool he's saving these boats. All time Favorites.

You can't come on here asking for info for a major restore and not have threads on those Icons of the ocean!
Great to see they are being aggressively restored back to the glass. |

hahaha. Dave’s a good dude. Besides, He’s doing gods work, keeping the tribe in tip top! ;) I emailed Tom M the Lucky Strike photos when I initially posted- apparently the family had few photos of the boat. Perhaps the photographer Paul Kemiel has some as well if you contact him... |
LC is most likely going to have trip Teague 1500’s by the way.
ROCK ON! :riding: |
Here’s one I’ve had since 1989. Hope it helps.

no not me. Buddy bought it and 4 other apaches and is restoring each. He has begun on LC which has been sandblasted all the way down and will begin on the full restore build up including new stringers etc. his work is crazy impeccable.

I think most the Apache guys know who Dave is and what he’s doing. He’s already restored sacred ground to Straight Arrow. He’s know working on Lucky Strike and Little Cesars and he has kid Apache and he has one more (can’t think of it right now). I met Dave when I wrote an article on his restoration efforts for Speed On The Water a few years back. I knew he was searching for Little Caesar’s and when I saw it pop up I text him. He flew out a few days later and bought it. He is fanatically meticulous with his work and the boats he rebuilds are, dare I say, better than new when complete. While opinion on paint of the 41 varies, I don’t think ANYONE will dislike how Lucky Strike and Little Caesar’s are going to turn out, since he’s taking them back to their original look thus, he needs as many detailed pics as possible to get the paint recreations perfect. He can get pics online like anyone else but I was hoping the OSO fam could dig deep and come up with some pics that haven’t seen the internet (he is going to call tres to see about pics of LC). LC is most likely going to have trip Teague 1500’s by the way.

i hope he doesnt change the shape of the cowl like he did on the 41, totally kills the lines of the boat.
I talked to them a couple years ago (2018) about Luckey Strike and little Cesars, among other things I asked about keeping the original livery. I was very disappointed I didnt get a hard yes at least about Little Cesars. Shelby sent this little blurb about Lucky Strike. ”The first stage will be to straighten out the hull and get rid of the "hooks". This will take approx. 8-9 months. Once that is complete we will begin fabrication. Like you, we believe in restoring these boats back to their original glory keeping the original builds--no turbines, all pistons, triple application--we don't stagger the engines.” |

I couldnt agree more. Truth be told I thought Sacred Ground was a gorgeous boat. TKOs work is absolutely fantastic, rigging looks amazing but I have a little issue with paint and fairing.

they are his to do as he wishes, the LC that he has is the only the original hull, the deck was done by some other guys after the crash. the original deck went to another boat that was made at the factory to be staggered.

I believe his plan is to redo LC as close to original as possible. Same with kid Apache and lucky strike. Those are more iconic boats than straight arrow which he did to his liking.
R&B thanks for the great pics. They are appreciated. |

These motors are not from LCPizza. Triple Cobra's in Richard Carr's Cougar

A computer rendition I put together of the hull - really excited to see her restored! Great news! |
I’d really love to have this PDF?

That looks really good. Do you have actual measurements that you worked off of? If so, would you care to share those? I'm making a 1/8 scale model of Kramer's 47' and it entirely done off photos.
