Default Apache Brave

I have decided to buy another Apache and was looking into a 28’ Brave. When asking around I’ve heard not to buy one because of issues with the structural integrity. Does anyone else have this problem with a Saccenti boat?
I see there are some people on this forum that are restoring Saccenti boats.

Unless its a secret kept in the basement of the Vatican...i have never heard of Apache's having structural issues.
Can they be abused beyond their limits or possibly start showing their age? sure....

My brother in law had one that was neglected and uncovered outside for years before he got it. I crawled all over it thinking for sure it was rotted. Couldn’t find a soft spot anywhere. Very solid boat that handled any conditions you’d actually want to be in very well.

This sounds like an interesting one. Eric and Bob joined forces in 1997 and these boats are very well made. Friends that have had an Apache 28 Brave have all been very happy owners. They do keep their value too, no matter which of the 3 generations of manufacturing.

The Brave above is tough as nails -- no rattles, shakes or quirks! Any boat can be neglected to the point of rot showing up somewhere in a hull, keep in mind these boats are 25-30 years old and could have had a bunch of hands since birth on them screwing things into them allowing water past the fiberglass and into the wood cores.
Bobby and Eric have built some of the strongest boats out there in my opinion -- other boats try to measure against them!

Default 28 Apache structure

They do have a problem with the stringers next to the fuel tank typically, and engine compartment stringers. Even when hoist kept or trailered. They are built like a tank , but water finds wood , even in the very best.
