Default Apache Scout at LOTO Shootout

My wife running her Scout in the LOTO shootout @ 89mph with a LOT left to go. The boat has run over 100mph with me behind the wheel.
She was short by only 2mph to win the class. A little bit of nerves and some cross chop held her back from taking the "W". She did an amazing job and is having a blast at the same time.

Default 22 scouts

we built quite a few of those 22's in both i/o's and outboards those years. heavy little 22's. 1/2'' plywood deck coring. 3/4'' plywood stringers. thick solid glass hulls, etc. takes some big horsepower & good rigging to get them in the 80's at all. that one just might be the fastest i/o boat ever. then or nowadays.

The kids and I totally dug seeing that out there and running while watching from home! Kudos to the two of you! Super impressive!

Thanks. Bob Saccenti confirmed it's the fastest Scout around. I've run 100mph in it multiple times and consistent 98/99 on most days even in 90+ heat.. It has low 100's in it if I can stay in it long enough. Now that racing season is over for my wife I'll see what it can do above 100 before the season is over.

My wife assembled the engine with my oversight and mentoring.

What a great story and thread!
Thanks for sharing!

She did a hell of a job of driving through that chop!

And she built her own motor…….., outstanding!

Even more interesting w/having the insider info from Ed, including how heavy they are.

Great job to you and the Mrs, Panther!
