I wonder if anyone will acknowledge that McManus built that 41 mold for Don. It was his project, thats where the history began folks, credit where credit is due.

At this point ... I have to ask a question ....... After all the stuff thats been put up here over the last TWO years on this subject ... good and bad .... What difference does it make who built a certain boat ? Or who designed it ? Or whatever ....

Does it "run well" at speed ?
Does it "work" for "your" application ?
Will it take a beating , and "LAST" ?

Hell ... I don't care what the guys name was ... I want to know I can go out there and beat the crap out of it for two hours and know that the boat can take more punishment than I can !!!!

After many conversations with Bobby, I believe, and I think he would agree that he and I were on the same page on many things..keep in mind that Bobby and I developed a relationship long before I brought Thad into the picture.
The idea was to Bobby to stay where he was in the industrial park and concentrate on creating the product...while it may not be as nice as what the current offices are,it was perfect to rig and assemble boats...AND better than Cigs factory on 188th...and look what they turned out In other words, produce boats...
People could care less what the factory looks like...they don't drive it..... The one consistent equation has been.."show us the boat"....my vision was to bring the factory AND the product to the buyers...in their market..what a concept...let the buyers see the product.ride in the product, smell the product, and have someone(Stinson) explain EVERYTHING about the product....what a novel concept...bring the factory to the buyers and create your market...
Boat manufacturers just don't get how to market their product...their concept is..build it and they will come..wrong!!! I can count many companies that make great boats...but, they have not even begun to market their product and as a result suffer financially because of it.
When I was involved with APACHE, my goal was to create brand name awareness for this incredible brand that has ridden the highest of highs and has sunk to very low depths. As some of you remember...when I initiated the suit against Cimmino, APACHE was back..and with a vengence.Even if we did not have a new 41, Bobbys 36 was great...and it was all APACHE.
my intention was to show people what APACHE was all about....experience what APACHE was all about...the 41 would come in due time...but, by that time the 41 would have been produced, the customer base would already have there.
Bobby will remain in the boat business...it is in his blood and he has MANY options.....keep your seat belts on!!
WITH ALL DO RESPECT THE 36 WAS NEVER A JAW DROPPER LIKE THE 41 AND 47 APACHE, AND NEVER WILL BE. A NEW 41 IS WHAT PEOPLE WANTED..
