Steve1

You totally missed my point. Thats OK. You are building a V Bottom right now. Not a cat. Apache had a design and took it to the winners' circle. Did I mention a name in the designing? NO Did I mention ANYTHING about Bob? NO Did you imply that? YES

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG, HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS NEW BOAT ON THE WATER? HOW DO YOU KNOW THE DESIGN WILL WORK?

NO WATER TEST. NO CRUISE AROUND BISCAYNE. NOT A STOP BY SHOOTERS. POWERBOAT MAG IS NOT DOING AN ARTICLE ON IT. NO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. WHY?

BECAUSE IT HASN'T BEEN BUILT!

Far from true, but I'll take that one on the chin since I was out of line. My apologies.

Jack,
I not trying to make friends HERE. If I was I would jump on the bandwagon (like the majority has already done) and start trashing the new Apache. But I'm not going to do that. I'm a completely unbiased bystander that feels optimistic about the work that Steve1 is doing. Everyone has been dissing the new boat, but the fact of the matter is the new boat will be superior in just about every way. I don't know about from a design standpoint because I haven’t seen layout details, but as far as construction goes it's FAR superior to the previous generation. As you well know, the hull is based on the same design as the old 41', but is now STRAIGHT. This new hull is completely true now via the marvels of modern technology. The same cant be said about the old mold/hull. The construction techniques and materials they are using are FAR superior to the earlier models. They are much stronger, and unlike the earlier generations they will NOT ROT. In every respect the hull is vastly improved. PERIOD. Only an idiot could argue otherwise. Like I said before, I don't know what they have done with design changes to the deck, so I'll stay away from commenting on that other than saying again it will be built with superior construction techniques and materials compared to the old deck. As far as Thad burning bridges goes I agree with most of you on that. He's alienated many, including some Apache supporters. So be it. I don't really give a rats ass if he makes it or not. What I do care about is seeing the heritage of the Apache name carried on. I also care about seeing someone introduce new and IMPROVED construction materials and techniques into this century, which Steve1 is doing. With this said, I think Steve and the new Apache have a great marriage. Maybe Thad is a meathead, maybe not. I don't know the man so I'll refrain from commenting on him. You obviously thought he was good for the company (at one point) since you brought him into the picture. If **** went sour, that's between you two and nobody else. You two need to settle your differences outside a public forum. I don't agree with gathering a tribe together to sabotage the new company because your ego was bruised and I'm not saying you did, but that's how it looks from an unbiased outsider.

The only reason I'm posting on this subject is to support what looks to be a potentially great product that mergers yesterday's proven design with today’s technology. I could care less what you guys think of me in the 'tribal' world. I've never owned an Apache and I probably never will (I'll stick with cats, thank you), I'm just giving a third party opinion whether right or wrong. I'm trying to keep the personal jabs within this subject only. Any other topic/forum I will try to stay in a civil demeanor. I apologize for some of the comments I've made to you and a couple of others, some were off color and unprofessional, some deserved. But I do think some people should let these gentlemen build their boats and then pass judgment at that point. They will be hitting the market soon and I think some of you might have to agree that they might be a damn nice boat... assuming you can have an open mind.

AMEN.

Scott

Steve-

This is the way to introduce a boat......with class, with style, open dialog, no BS, no threats, no empty promises, no ego.

Maybe you guys have never seen this thread.
