Pete,
There's a chance we'll be up your way around the time of SOTW and might be viewing the festivities, you wanna ride? I fully understand the difference between the 382 and a 41 as I went just the other way, started with a 382 and ended up with a 41. The 41 just seem to have that "offshore" ride that I had "envisioned" stuck in my brain that an "offshore" boat was suppose to ride like. For all of the obvious reasons. And I can only wonder what Allez Vite would do today with dry-sump 6's and 1500 HP Sterlings. If she went 104 with 1000's and wet-sump drives, I'd think she'd see 130 today, even without steps. Probably not a wise thing to do, without canopies, however! If that power were available 13 years ago, we could probably have beaten the 40 Skaters, even when it wasn't rough.
