Re: 47 weight with trips
I was interested in this boat (still am) but the person I contacted re the sale of it, was going to provide me with some up to date photos and information on it, which I never recieved. The last I heard of this boat it was apparently missing one of the drives (stolen, rumours??) If any one on here can confirm this and what the current status of this boat is I would be interested in hearing from them.
Cheers

James-
If in fact, you are still interested in this boat and would like updated information, call Tony @ 314.581.3532. He knows the current details and the history of this boat.

Re: 47 weight with trips
I keep hearing about how much it costs to run and maintain a 47 and 41's , my question is why ?
I kind of assume that most people that have one of these boats usually pay's cash for them. So no payment to worry about. Insurance is probably what $5-6k ? I'm also assuming storing it at one's house or on a hoist in thier canal , so no storage fee.
Maintaince, hopefully anyone that owns one can do thier own maintaince that is what would make it a passion owning one. You've got oil changes , blower belts , plugs, maybe a set of lifters a season. What else ? Motors freshened maybe every other year at $2-3k a motor if nothing is broken. Servicing a #6 drive might be costly but how often do they need it and can the owner do it ?
Gas, now that is an unknown . How much gas does one of these actually use ? Let's say just one weekend of cruising around to the local hotspots and maybe racing a boat or two. Maybe a total of 10-12 hrs running time.
Someone replied $40-50k a year to operate on of these, I'm wondering where that figure comes from?

Re: 47 weight with trips
Thanks Chad,
Im still interested the only thing that has put me off is the shipping cost of bringing the Boat to NZ, I assume it would be around 200 cubic metres in size (approx) so freight alone would be $37,000.. before tax's and anything other expenses... If I lived in the states I would have bought it yesterday. I will try and give him a call anyway.
