[QUOTE=ViciousOne;2969668]Richard, how is the tunnel tab project comming along ? QUOTE]

Sparky, On the back burner. Right now just trying to clean up the hull with some recent mods. Thru-hull water pick-ups are gone. Replaced with Teague's new Transom water pick-ups. I had to also relocate the bilge drain fittings. So I am in the process of having Dave plug the hull and transom holes left in the mod process. Still have the tab on my "to do" list.
I like you idea of a wider cat project. Perhaps some extra length and I/O version too? Richard

Rotex454,
I did the same thing with mine.
I had bottom pick ups & replaced them with transom pick ups.

It has solved my water pressure problems & I think they provide less drag.
Mine is for outboards but helped alot.

ShadowCat has been sold.
The only thing good on the boat was the bottom & I don't know how long that would last.
Was a great project, but probably cheaper to build a new one.

On another note: I noticed that my AwesomeCat has a different dash layout then any other one out there?

Sorry to say, but I like mine more then the others:party-smiley-004:

Only problem: no storage not even a drink holder?
How can you build a 31ft cat for 6 people & not even put in a cup holder?
I think I will install some over the winter.

Somebody send me an e-mail address & I will send pics to post.
This boat was painted Mercury colors including the seats & interior. (looks pretty cool)

I fully realize the lack of storage in the cockpit area. This has been discussed on previous posts in the Awesome and AO threads. This winter I am planning to add storage and drink holders to the sides of the cockpit liner. I will post some of the manufacturers websites that have this type of product.

This looked like a good place & pricing for what we need.

Anybody know where I can find wind deflectors & what size do you have ?

I have a deal on 2 but they are only 13" wide.
Not sure if it's enough?

Thanks

My buddy has two 12" wide deflectors on his 25' Talon that runs just over a 100mph and they work great, I would say go with the two you have and call it a day. The factory Awesome deflector ain't worth a crap.

STV92 11-11-2009 05:04 PM

I agree, I'm hunting down the seller.
They are 17 1/2 wide for 100 bucks, with mounting bracets.:evilb:

I think thats a deal

Sparky, Agreed on the factory crap. How about using the same mounting surface on the race fairing. Instead of using a straight piece of plexiglas (like the factory), bend at the top edge of the race fairing so the exposed surface is about 15 degree's back from 0 degree's (straight up). Sorta like the Cigarette folks do with their race fairing windscreen.

Richard, All you can do is give it a try, my buddy had a 115 mph A O , all he did was he put a 6" tall peice plexi on a hinge the length of the dash cluster and at about 0 mph it would flip up and it worked excellent !

Sparky, The hinge method is sorta like the old Cigarette Top Gun flip-up windscreens mounted on the race fairing. How about a pair of these mounted into the top of the dash?
