Default Need Info on 1997 27 awesome....????

I'm thinking of buying one next weekend..... It'll be my first cat, I love the way it looks but figured I'd ask what you guys think of them first???
It's a 454 Mag. and it's port steering.
Any good and bads would be greatly appreciated along with anything to look for. Power and speeds would help to, I'm thinking of dropping a 600hp blower motor in it I just built....

THANKS in advance guys!!!!

I had a 26 with 900 HP it was a good boat. I would never own one with less then 700 HP! I drove bye every V bottom boat on my lake in moderately rough waters with it.

What kind of speeds were you running and what did you have for a drive?? I've heard cars are easier on drives, is that true? Also heard that an extension box or a 3" spacer helps a lot with gaining some mph, what's your input on that? Or due you have or know of something else that helps?
It's got a mag in it but was I was thinking of building a 600hp motor for it, why do you say 700 plus?

I love mine, has a stock 454 mag mpi. spinning a 26 4 blade prop ive never gps checked it but i can run next to some 70mph boats.
all i have added is a 3" spacer to the drive, didn't pick up any mph that i noticed, but helped mid speed handling and planing times.
Kind of a tight fit for more than 4 people, ive done 6 including myself.
cruises through our lakes at 3200-3400 at 45mph all day gettin around 2mpg.
cuddy has plenty of room for anchor, bumpers, floaties and a couple ice chests, not much people room.
only reason id sell it is to buy something with a gene and a/c.
