Hey guys I’m looking at a 26 right now with big power. I have never been on one and only know one person who has been. He says it porpoises to the point of it not even fun. Most of my boating would be on lake st Clair which is a snotty 2-3’ slop every weekend.
what’s the pros and cons of this boat?

I have had mine since brand new 2004. Rigged it myself. It rides great. When I first got it running I had a 600 HP N.A. Motor it ran good topped out about 85 MPH. I put a pro Charger on that motor and I ran just over 100 mph. XR Drive not good for boat. I rebuilt motor it in now 565 C.I. with Pro Charger 1050 H.P. Ran Seven Shootout in a row. Boat Ran 113 M.P.H 2020 Shootout. As far as the porpoise it runs sooth until around 60 M.P.H. in flat water Hamer through it to 80 M.P.H smooth and flat. In rough water it is an animal takes the porpoise out. I love the boat!! It rides better than any center pod 26 out there and will take them in rough water. Put enough power in the boat and you will be able to push through the Porpoise lol. At 3000 RPM I run around 55 MPH at 4000 80's and at 5000 92 MPH. The boat hits 100 all day long with no trouble. I think if you get the right combination you will love the boat. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I would be happy to give insight.

I have a B-Max with a 1.5 ratio from John Pfahl from the Bravo Shop. It takes a beating and is still alive. He knows his **** when it cmes to outdrives. I think the XR will be ok with that HP When I first put my boat together my motor was 600 and I ran one whole season wasn't until I put the procharger on that it blew apart lol. The problem is that the X dimension is very high due to the full tunnel. The prop Surfaces so that takes a toll on gears. Use a three inch spacer. On mine with the three inch spacer my prop shaft is still 1.5" above the running surface.

do you know the approximate weight of these boats?
You will have to let me know when you come to St. Clair again. Maybe I’ll have this boat and we can run around together. Even if it’s another boat I’d like to see yours out here.
