Question is: Is it still going to be manufactured in Michigan?

Re: Somethings Brewing

Best of Luck in your new venture. Being a current owner of an Awesome, I would certainly like to see a new and fresh start for the brand. Considering the dark clouds that seemed to hang over the building occupying this brand, having ownership that really cared about ALL of their customers would be a great start.

This opinion is not from an owner to whom has had a "less then" good experience with the ownership. Just the opposite. The current (unless there has been a recent change) ownership always treated me with respect, was always honest, kept to his word, delivered exactly what I was promised and never owned me any monies, product or services. I understand that others have not had the same type of relationship with the ownership. That is very unfortunate.

Having spend the last year and a half doing a complete, and I mean complete rebuild to my boat, there is not much I don't know about this boat. Would be interested in any changes and/or upgrades you make to the 31 thundercat. If feasible, I may consider those to my boat. Again best of luck.

Yes......many have been jaded by the previous regime/ownership. That has all changed and not only will the boats be re-designed and re-thought but how the company is run a, marketed and does business with the performance enthusiast. A COMPLETE REVAMP HERE...from top to bottom and even a new state of the art facility with highly qualified staffing and management. It is very very exciting to say the least. As things develop I will regularly post here as events unfold. As of now I can only release bits and pieces. You will hear much , much more in the weeks and months to follow.

You will have me cheering from the sidelines. Good hearing that Awesome Powerboats will be in good hands.

My companies expertise is in vehicular wiring. Delphi and Amp products are what we use primarily and keep in stock. As I wrote previously, rigging my own boat currently. Finding out that it does not differ that much from what we do on a daily basis. If we can be of service, in the electrical department that is, please do call me. We do custom wiring including complete wiring harness work, or large OEM projects.

We were (between 1987 and 1998) a GM tier 1 supplier. The Chevrolet Caprice, Tahoe and Lumina Police Vehicles were built with our designed and manufactured wire harnesses.

Keep in touch. Currently working with a major boat industry manufacturer/supplier on a wiring project. We are looking to expand into this industry utilizing our expertise learned from the automotive industry. Wiring build to ISO/AS standards.

At low speeds (on plane, somewhere between 30-40mph) my 31 does "sneeze" once in awhile. Water being blown forward and upward from the tunnel over the bow and in your face. Not a huge problem, just alittle annoying. After 40, none at all. Remedy: Don't cruise under 40. :D Don't know if other cats have this same condition.

Re: Somethings Brewing

Rotax! Thanks for the information, now that you described this, it has happened to me but the boat must be facing the wind in heavy seas, and once the hull gets up on top (over 35mph) it goes away. I have a 38 awesome and love it, the hull tracks straight and handles the big water quite well, we never had any problems with the past owners, they were very pleasent to deal with. good to see the brand coming back!!!

Fellow Awesome Owners:
Over the last year much rumor, conjecture and mystery has surrounded Awesome. It is now time to clear the air. We have purchased all the assets and tooling, etc. . We are in the process of acquiring a production facility. We look forward to meeting all the Awesome owners. Perhaps we can gather at LOTO for the Shootout.

Thanks Dan, for the unveiling :drink:

You and your talented staff should resurrect the company to a new all time high standard in the performance cat arena. I look forward to working with you and the crew in the near future. I am glad a real stand up guy is now behind the product!

Best of Luck!

Paul

Re: Somethings Brewing

spent the day with Dan, the new owner, there is alot going on at his new facility, he definately is gearing up, the facility is being updated, he has alot of great ideas, already retooling the 22 and 28, then moving onto 34 and 40, added some cool lines to the boats, Dan wants to produce a small number of Awesomes with great quality, neat features, but yet affordable , he has a streamline operation, and not a huge overhead. he will not be a mass producer, he wants to work directly to meet each customers needs. he also has some other neat designs ideas on non catamaran boats, He is going to be at LOTO friday and will be at the OSO party, trying to get him to run his Awesome in the shootout.

Dan I'm sure will post in the next few days, He has been getting the facility geared up for production and working on the right employee combination to produce a superb product. he is continuing to update the design of the tops and cockpits, I know he is considering a retractable or removable top and offering A/C in the cockpits. I believe his facility is approx. 15,000 sq. ft. with 3 different buildings one for layup, one for rigging, interiors, and one for finish and paint. He is also considering a 32' version of a party cat that will seat 12 and run 80+ mph stay tuned, he is very meticulous and has told me he wont start production until he is totally satisfied he is building quality, innovative, affordable and safe boats, He expects to have product for the 2007 season. If anyone has an interest I would be happy to have Dan call you, just send me an email, wiggler
