Well said ... have to agree there. If it means staying onshore or being on the lake, go for the 6.2's.

Having siad that, I see Hawkeye in IA has a custom 04 29 SSE with HO's you could get cheaper than a 30.

I know of a 29 with 6.2's on our lake. I am very impressed with it's performance. As far as resale, I think resale sucks period with any boat in todays market. I was thinking of selling my 04 30 with 496mags recently. I had it advertised in the high 90's and no calls really. I also agree, there are some great deals on 29's out there. Bottom line is you are the one writing the check. Don't let any blowhard run their mouth about big blocks, speed, or Baja's in general for that matter. Enjoy it and have fun!!

dstroyed:

I second that of course if I or we had the money I would lose my Fountain for a 42 Tiger with 575SC but until that tax bracket comes, here I am. I am 29 years old and have been blessed to enjoy water toys and I too have had my best memories on the water. So I agree play hard with whatever you have and don't worry about other stuff. Believe me there is always a boat faster than the other one no matter what you run.

my 2 pennies.

I'm looking at a 40 with triple 575's. Just kidding.

I am almost complete with the construction of our new home. We also just had our second child. Things are kinda tight. A few months ago, I was going to sell the boat. I had no luck, decided to hang on it. I probably will keep it, we've trimmed some other costs down. However, if someone wanted to buy it for somewhere in the 90's I would let her go.

It's a great ride. I special ordered all the extra's. I've got just the mags though, could not swing the Ho's. She still runs an honest 72 on gps/75 speedo. Here's a pic the day we picked her up

O the ride is nice. I never figured a 30 foot boat could get as loose at wot as she does but it is a nice ride. How did it go?......"Loose is fast and on the edge of outa control"
