Default Question.....

Need some input guys. I have a 2000 29 Outlaw. 454 mpi's with labbed 24p props. Last year I was running 72 gps. Had one of the drives replaced and now run 69. The rpms seem to be about 200 less. Same drive ratio at 1.5. I was getting about 4800-4900 on the tach now I get 4600-4700. I put my labbed 26's on and run 4500-4600 at almost the exact same speed as the 24's. Any thooughts? Thanks.

Also, any thoughts of taking 4 blades off and putting a 25p 3 blade?

I have a 2001 302 with same engines and dives I turn 24 4's at 4900 with no trim on the drive and 5100 with full trim. I am running about 68 GPS so your speed may be about right for the rpm but where you lost 200 rpm I have no idea. Fuel, water conditions, temp, load ect may have something to do with the loss.

THE 3 BLADE 25 MIRAGES WILL BLOW OUT BUT YOU MIGHT PICK UP YOUR RPMS . ARE BOTH ENGINES DOWN 200 OR JUST ONE..

The Mirages are good props for that boat, you just need to keep the rpm's below about 3300 when getting on plane or they'll blow out.

Engines are tuned. Boat runs very well. Just changed out the bad drive and since then this situation started.

IF IT IS BOTH MOTORS I DON'T THINK IT'S THE DRIVE
IF IT WAS IT WOULD BE THE MOTOR WITH THE NEW DRIVE.
DID YOU DO ANY PROP WORK?
NOTHING NEW SINCE LAST YEAR?

Yes they are mags. Adjusted the drive stops. Looking at the drives they didn't seem to be even. Brought rpms up a little with the 26's on. Seemed to run better then before with trim at about 1/4. Going to put 24's on Friday and see how it goes. Maybe that's all the problem was. Any tricks to adjusting the drives or just trial and error?
